STEM challenge accepted… and hilariously failed! 🚤🎈

Today, our overnight campers took on the Balloon Boat Race Challenge, designing and building balloon-powered boats to race across the pool.

Did any of them make it to the finish line? Absolutely not! But did we have an awesome time watching them spin in circles, sink, and refuse to cooperate? Definitely!

There were plenty of laughs, lots of creative engineering, and some very enthusiastic problem-solving along the way. Sometimes the best STEM activities aren’t about getting it right, but rather having fun while figuring it out!

🔧 This classic is officially Powered by Velocity

We're obsessed with the trades, and there's nothing better than watching young people catch the same spark. That's why we jumped at the chance to support the Queen Margaret's School Classics for Kids Program on Vancouver Island, BC.

A group of high school students took an old 1940 Ford Coupe, got their hands dirty, and brought it ROARING back to life, learning what it means to be a mechanic one bolt at a time.

🚙 💨 We were proud to donate the engine that makes it run. Powered by Velocity, built by the next generation.

Even better news? You can win the car! Every ticket supports kids' healthcare through the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation.

🌐 Learn more about the program | Link In Bio

Ticket sales end June 26, 2027. Draw June 27, 2027. Must be 19+. Know your limit, play within it. BC Gaming Event Licence #173371. Max 30,000 tickets; actual odds depend on tickets sold.
