Another month, another adventure.

Welcome to my July Recap, featuring some of my favorite places I discovered across Berlin and Amsterdam.

Before we dive into food... I’d like to say something.

After what happened during CSD last weekend, I stayed silent. Not because I didn’t care, but because I was afraid my words could be misunderstood or seen as a way to gain attention from such a painful event.

Every day since, I felt a little guilty for not expressing how close I feel to everyone who was there, to those who survived, to those who lost someone, and to everyone affected.

I don’t think there are perfect words for moments like these.

The only message I truly hope reaches someone is this:

Don’t choose hate. Don’t feed hatred.

Sit around a table. Talk. Listen. Discover what makes us similar rather than what separates us.

Every single person has a story, a family, friendships, dreams and people they love. In the end... that’s what really matters.

Life is incredibly short.

Spend your energy creating memories, not enemies.

With all my love to the queer community.

Thank you for making this world a little more colorful.

A journey that introduced me to incredible people, inspiring stories and places full of heart.

@das_hoven , a restaurant that represents acceptance, resilience and community in one of the most beautiful ways I’ve experienced.

Supporting people who make Berlin more welcoming will always be worth it.

The sweetest ending possible. ❤️🌈

I couldn’t imagine a better place to close my Queer-Owned & Inclusive Berlin series than @marc.patisserie.

Marc brought his French pastry expertise from Nancy to Berlin and, since opening his own pâtisserie in 2022, has created a place where craftsmanship, creativity and inclusivity come together beautifully. Every dessert is made with incredible precision, seasonal ingredients and a lot of heart.

One of Marc’s signatures is the famous Pavlova, it has become one of Berlin’s most loved desserts for good reason.

The atmosphere is just as memorable as the pastries: industrial design softened by warm hospitality, making everyone feel genuinely welcome.

Planning a birthday, celebration or private gathering? Marc also has a beautiful room in the back that can be booked for private events, making this little pastry paradise even more special.

Some places serve brunch. Others create a feeling of belonging. @tuckerbrunchbar is one of those places.

I am very glad to introduce you to Tucker within the special format of the pride month! This reel is, in fact, part of my Queer Owned & Explicitly Inclusive series highlighting the restaurants, cafés and bars that make Berlin’s food scene more welcoming, colorful and inclusive for everyone.

Inspired by Australian brunch culture, Tucker serves everything from perfectly poached Eggs Benedict and fresh sandwiches to colorful drinks, specialty coffee and cocktails. But what truly makes this place special is the atmosphere.

The vibrant interior mirrors the people who fill it every day: different personalities, different stories, different shades, all bringing their own light. It’s a place where diversity isn’t just welcomed, it’s celebrated. Their only rule? Bring good vibes.

🌈 Some restaurants serve food. Others tell a story.

@das_hoven is one of them.

The name itself carries a powerful meaning. It comes from owner Danjel’s late father, whose surname was Althoven. For most of his life, he struggled to accept his son’s sexuality. But after heartfelt conversations in his final year, something changed. He embraced his son, supported his dream, and even helped make Das Hoven a reality.

Today, that name stands for what it once lacked: acceptance, love, and belonging.

Inside, Chef Robin creates a new seasonal menu every week, playing with textures, fresh ingredients, and homemade aromatic oils. Every dish is crafted with the same care that defines the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Despite facing homophobic attacks since opening, Das Hoven continues to be a safe space for the queer community, friends, families, and allies supported by neighbors who chose love over hate.

Because sometimes the most meaningful thing a restaurant can serve isn’t just food.

It’s a place where everyone belongs. ❤️🌈

Vom 26.06. bis 25.07.2026 entsteht gemeinsam mit Initiativen, Vereinen, Projekten und vielen Engagierten aus der queeren Community ein vielfältiges Programm überall in Berlin. 🌈

Ob Kultur, Kunst, Bildung, Sport, Austausch oder politische Haltung – der Pride Month schafft Räume für Begegnung, Vernetzung und gegenseitige Unterstützung.

Gerade jetzt ist es wichtiger denn je, sichtbar zu bleiben.
Denn queeres Leben gerät zunehmend unter Druck. Der Pride Month zeigt, wie stark, vielfältig und solidarisch unsere Community ist.
