POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
On 30 September, 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙆𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙨 opened in Paris.

A multisensory experience created by five artists working across scent, botanical sculpture, ceramics, interaction design and sound design.

At the centre, a tree stands rooted in soil as water moves across the vaulted ceiling. Eight chimes translate spoken words into sound.

The scent is built around geosmin, the earthy molecule at the heart of the smell of rain on dry earth, a scent deeply embedded in memory. Each visitor is invited to leave behind what they carry, and to leave changed. Technology is used to deepen attention, heighten the senses and create a moment of stillness.

Rain has long been a place for confession. Lear stands bare-headed in the storm and finally sees himself. In Macondo, years of rain wash a town’s memory away. Water rarely purifies us. More often, it reveals what was already there.

Artists: Hanna Sipos, Gigi Minsky, Xiao Xiao, Jana Francke and Alessia Manina.

Thank you to Anne-Mai Elbrecht (Studio Seraphima, production) and Liberty Calypso Wallace (PR).

Team: Awu Chen, Leoni Kolbeck, Edward Liu, Paul Peter-Arslan, Vivian Roussel and Olivia Carpenter.

With thanks to IFT – Institute for Future Technologies, De Vinci Higher Education, and MIT Media Lab.

The opening brought together friends and family from fragrance, art and technology for a quiet evening in the middle of Paris Fashion Week.

Open by appointment. Press kit available on request.
