POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Join us during #DesignMarin for a picnic in the park and storytelling with Ed Westbrook of @quarryhouseinc, @ericblasen_landscape_architect and Gary Rasmussen of Blasen Landscape Architecture and special guest Sarita Patel, who worked closely with George Lucas.

Located in the heart of downtown San Anselmo, Imagination Park serves as a beacon of inspiration, honoring the creative legacy of George Lucas’ and his iconic franchises, Star Wars and Indiana Jones. George donated the land to the Town in 2013. The park features life-sized statues of Yoda and Indiana Jones by sculptor Lawrence Noble and was donated to the Town by George Lucas in 2013.

Our San Francisco Italian Renaissance-style “villa” project was designed in 1927 and the recent redesign/restoration of this incredible site took eight years - the result of a truly collaborative effort between everyone on the team - architect, builder, craftspeople, landscape, and more. It takes a village!

This used to be a tennis court.

Beneath the stone terrace, a full pool and grotto we kept. Every piece of stone above it was hand-carved, sourced from masons we found specifically for the job, because the difference between mass-cut and hand-cut is visible to anyone who has spent a life looking at stone.
Most of the budget went to the part you'll never notice.

Perched above the street, this Pacific Heights garden, once a tennis court, now sits atop a full-size pool and grotto. We designed a series of garden rooms that function as both retreat and refined composition.

Hand-carved limestone by master artisans forms the foundation, paired with sculptural urns and Mediterranean plantings like Olea europaea. The result evokes a Tuscan hillside while offering privacy and permanence in the heart of the city.

On the stairs of this Italianate palazzo, a custom designed wool-and-silk runner from Tai Ping both complements and softens the marble architecture.

Centered beneath an octagonal laylight, a Murano Glass chandelier becomes a radiant punctuation mark in the architecture.

To elevate the morning’s visit to the kitchen, try hand hammered copper, laurel wreath crown moulding, and columns to hold up your countertop. The world outside could be local or far flung, but this cooking hearth makes the home.
