โ›๏ธ๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐œ๐ซ๐š๐Ÿ๐ญ ๐๐จ๐จ๐ค ๐‘๐ž๐œ๐ฌ๐Ÿ’Ž Look. As I said in my last post I am incapable of making recommendations that stretch beyond the scope of my faves... So I enlisted some help for this one! ๐Ÿ™Œ Shout out to all the fabulous people who participated. When I pitched this silly post idea the response was so enthusiastic! Being able to incorporate my kids in my content in safe and meaningful ways is important to me, I want to highlight queer joy from a whole family perspective, and having friends on here who jump at the chance to participate in that with me really means a lot. ๐Ÿฅฐ If you're new around here, I'm a stay at home, homeschooling parent to two autistic kids. A is my oldest, he's 7 years old, and we recently got Minecraft on his tablet for him. It's been really fun watching him create, incorporating this new interest in learning opportunities and, above all, listening to the silly things he says while playing. My Sapphic Summer Reading Challenge has officially come to an end โค๏ธ I was so overjoyed to see how many joined me in this whether they hit a prize tier or not!!! The whole point of this was to try and get eyes on a genre that is constantly being passed over and I would say this was an absolute success in that!!!! Kicking off indie author support week with the incomparable โœจ๏ธ CN RUDY โœจ๏ธ CN writes small-town romance novels with heavy mental health rep. Each book is interconnected and contains an amazing cast of characters. I have had the honour of ARC or alpha reading each one of her novels. And I am blown away every time! ๐Ÿ’œ I laugh, I cry, I kick me feet in giggles and swoon at the romance! The books all take place in Emerald Falls, a fictional small town set in the Canadian rockies. The town is cozy and idyllic with amazing descriptions of the surrounding mountains. Seriously though, I was in a weird place when I made this account a year ago and I was desperate for a sense of community, for a sign that I was making the right choice by exploring and expressing myself differently than I had been previously. If you've been here since the beginning you've watched me experiment with my pronouns and my style, you were the first people to know me as "Nico" and you helped me feel safe in this new version of myself. You've watched me go through health crises, my own and with others in my household. You've watched me celebrate milestones with my kids, birthdays, an autism diagnosis for my youngest, my oldest in two different musical productions. You've watched me start T and come out to more people in my personal life. You've been here when I cut contact with my biological family. And I just don't think I'd have the confidence to do all that if I didn't have a space like this where I felt not only welcomed but celebrated. There's so many other people I wish I could tag but alas there are limits. If you feel left out of the post, just know that you're not left out in my heart! (That's kinda cringe, isn't it? Whatever. A Night with Nikkita Bell! ๐Ÿฆ‚โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ I had the pleasure of meeting one of my favourite authors @nikkitabell for her event at the Book Boudoir! It was so fun to hear her share secrets about her work, but it was also inspiring listening to her chat about how much work she puts into each book, despite challenges along the way!
