The first ever Wheel & Wood queer pottery retreat, October 2025 🔥🪵🏺

Alt caption:
Mountain air and clay in my hair 🍂🧣🍁🥧 🌄

Still can’t believe I watched this small idea come to life. It wasn’t all perfect, and I learned a ton. But the best moments were seeing new friendships formed, and watching artists pick up new skills or throw the tallest pieces they ever have. Especially grateful our potters got to participate in an interactive traditional Raku experience, led by world-renowned potter @brucedehnert.

A full week of pottery, surrounded by mountains, fall leaves, and campfires, is definitely the best way to start the season 🫶

The last pottery retreat I went on was hosted by @loncic.pottery.studio in Croatia, my first exposed to the leather strap technique we’ll be using at Wheel & Wood.

This was one of the pieces I threw then. Can’t wait to share this technique with all of you this fall 🍁🪵

What started as a small idea a couple months ago has become a project I’m really proud of - and it’s finally time to share it with the world! 🫶

In January I started @queerpotterynyc which has grown to a community of 1500+ followers and monthly pottery nights that have fostered friendships through art 🎨

Now, I’m excited to share Wheel & Wood - an immersive pottery retreat in the Catskills.

Here are a few highlights:
🍂 Fall vibes + foliage
🏺 Traditional + cultural pottery techniques
✨ Stargazing + astrology
🔥 Campfire nights + s’mores
🥾 Hiking through waterfalls
🪵 Community + connection

I’m aiming to center Queer and GNC folks and am excited to build community together 🏳️‍🌈

Follow along at @wheelandwoodceramics or check out wheelandwoodceramics.com

There’s a full brochure in our bio, and feel free to reach out or DM with any q’s!
