“A sensation arriving and leaving in the dark”

- inspired by A Quiet Storm created by @quiet_ensemble @balloon_museum @marinabaysands

It was fun popping this image into Grok.ai for analysis 🧐 #concretepoem #liminalspaces

Three days.
Three nights.
ONE TAKEOVER.

⚡️Thank you for being part of it⚡️

WHEN THE MUSEUM STOPS.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS.

Un Palazzo trasformato.
Una città dentro.
La musica ovunque.

Grazie a chi c’era!

Day 1: We opened the doors.
Day 2: We tool over.

Scorri.

Quiet Ensemble CRITICAL MATTER
Anno: 2026
Media: aria, gravità, sfera in film di hdpe, sensore di prossimità, sound system, luce, suono.

LOURD - Critical Matter is a kinetic and interactive installation in which a large spherical body floats in space, suspended solely by the force of air.
Held in an unstable balance between gravity and lightness, the sphere continuously oscillates between ascent and fall, like a living body moved by opposing forces. As it rises, the space seems to become lighter with it: the light opens up and the soundscape becomes increasingly rarefied. As gravity pulls it back toward the ground, the atmosphere radically shifts. The body begins to vibrate, generating a growing physical tension, as if it were about to explode. The perfect geometry of the sphere breaks apart and continuously deforms, giving rise to organic, unstable and ever-changing shapes, like living matter in constant transformation. As it approaches the floor, the vibration spreads through the space like a small earthquake, physically resonating through the viewer's body.
The work transforms an elementary movement into a physical and perceptual experience. Air, gravity and vibration give body to unstable matter, suspended in a state of continuous tension, making tangible the fragile balance between lightness and weight, form and deformation, stillness and energy.
