A while ago, I had the pleasure of heading to the USA for @flickers.riiff, a BAFTA Qualifying Festival where Nuclear Boy was selected.

I had a great week filled with interviews, meeting fellow filmmakers, and I had the honor of speaking on the ScriptBiz panel together with the amazing @alannalongo & @graceeitrheim, talking about writing, filmmaking and getting things made.

And the best part: Nuclear Boy won the First Prize for Best Feature. 🏆

A huge thank you to everyone at @flickers.riiff And to the amazing cast and crew of Nuclear Boy: without you, none of this would have been possible. ❤️

- @midnight_short.film ¡mi primer cortó de terror! No puedo esperar a que vean nuestro trabajo. Aprendí un poco de tap dancing para este rol, bueno… roles 😏.
- Estoy en RD, y si estoy en el país veo teatro y cine dominicano. Pude apreciar el excelente trabajo de @camsantana @yelidadiazp y @ismaalmonte en @microteatrosd
- Seguimos entrenando con @spicyfitnation con resultados asomándose.
- Entrenamiento vocal presencial en mi escuela @la37xlastablas
- Leyendo Save the cat para seguir evolucionando cómo guionista, directora pero especialmente cómo actriz.

What a week! I am incredibly excited to share that ‘SCAM SLAVE: From Hell to Home’ won at the Oscar qualifying @flickers.riiff film festival receiving the Grand Prize for the Breaking Boundaries Award. “Films that celebrate the endurance of the human spirit and resilience in the face of injustice.”

Many thanks to my incredible team and to the festival for giving us this opportunity to share this much needed story. And I am so grateful to the talented filmmakers from around the globe who I became friends with over these 6 amazing days!

We had the honor of opening one fest and closing another in the same week 🫢

On August 4, Sound & Color played at @flickers.riiff opening night, at the incomparable @provpacri . It was a dream to screen our film alongside such talented artists in an 100 year old theater. Thank you so much to the Flickers team @quirk220 @ejoyaproductions for this honor.

On August 9, Sound & Color closed out @greenpointfilmfestival alongside @whenwewerelive. This former home of MTV was the most unique venue we’ve screened in, and were so lucky to have @sarahkraning and @charlielaud2 for their first festival screening of S&C.

We are excited to share more screenings soon!!

🇺🇸 We won our first prize for 'Éclats', my latest directed short, at the prestigious Rhode Island International Film Festival @flickers.riiff, taking home the 'Best LGBTQ Short' award 🌈❤️‍🔥
Huge thanks to the festival, its team, and all the amazing creative people we met 🫶

🇫🇷 Nous avons gagné notre premier prix pour "Éclats", mon dernier court-métrage réalisé, au prestigieux Rhode Island International Film Festival @flickers.riiff (catégorie A) avec le "meilleur court-métrage LGBTQ" 🌈❤️‍🔥
Un immense merci au festival, à son équipe et à toutes les personnes incroyables que l'on a rencontrées 🫶

Avec @lorettenyssen la scénariste et actrice principale du film et @maeva.lyn.m cheffe opératrice son, directrice de post-production et monteuse son/mixeuse, on a décidé d'y aller, sans trop savoir à quoi s'attendre.
Ça nous a fait à toutes les trois beaucoup sortir de notre zone de confort, on a vécu plein d'aventures et de rencontres en une semaine, mais ça en valait le coup ❤️
Merci à toute l'équipe du film, et à celles et ceux qui nous ont aidé.es de près ou de loin.
