[SWIPE ▶️] @qwabar is a Japanese izakaya-style yakitori restaurant in Singapore, built around charcoal-grilled skewers, small plates and drinks.

If you love ordering a whole table of Japanese skewers and sharing plates, this is one spot to check out around Circular Road!

🥒 Zucchini with Mentaiko Sauce ($4.90)
Simple grilled zucchini topped with creamy and savoury mentaiko sauce. An easy starter before moving on to the heavier grills.

🐷 Butabara Miso ($4.20)
Juicy pork belly paired with a savoury miso glaze — rich, smoky and satisfying.

🍗 Tebasaki ($4.20 each)
We ordered two of these grilled chicken wings, with nicely charred skin and juicy meat underneath.

🥩 Asupara Gyu ($4.90 each)
Another one we doubled up on! Asparagus wrapped with beef gives you a nice contrast between the tender meat and crunchy vegetable.

🐟 Sake Harasu ($14.90)
The grilled salmon belly was fatty and rich, although I personally found it a little too salty for my liking.

🦪 Hotate ($18.90)
Plump scallops with a delicate sweetness — a lighter seafood option compared to the salmon belly.

🥔 Potato Sarada ($8.90)
Creamy Japanese-style potato salad that worked nicely as a cooling side between the grilled dishes.

🍙 Yaki Onigiri ($8.90)
One of those simple comfort foods I can never resist! Grilled rice ball with a lightly crisp and charred exterior while remaining warm and soft inside.

For drinks, we had the refreshing Iced Lemon Passion Fruit ($4.90) 🍋 and Ice Honey Grapefruit Tea ($3.90) 🍊 to balance out all the smoky and savoury flavours.

Overall, Q-WA is a casual spot for settling in with friends, ordering a bunch of yakitori and izakaya dishes for the table, and slowly eating your way through the grills. 🍢🔥

A cosy Japanese izakaya that’s perfect for food, drinks and chill nights 🍻🍢

The place gives off a cosy izakaya vibe with Japanese inspired decor making it a nice spot to sit back, relax and enjoy a few drinks

🍤 Hokkaido River Shrimp - These little shrimps are well seasoned and you can actually bite into the meat
🍢 Skewers - There’s a variety of meat and vegetable skewers to choose from. My favourites were the shio and pepper beef, ox tongue and chicken with leek
🥔 Potato Salad - Leans towards the sweeter side, I wished there were more chunky potato pieces for the texture
🐙 Tako Wasabi - Love the crunch from the tako paired with that wasabi kick
🥬 Pan-Fried Vegetables - An assortment of vegetables offering different textures with a homely feel

The place I’d come to when I want a laid back night with Japanese bites and drinks, the cosy izakaya atmosphere makes it easy to settle in and stay awhile

🍢 YAKITORI NIGHT @ Q-WA BAR!

Came by to check out their selection of Japanese-style grilled skewers, & there were definitely a few standouts 👀 For the yakitori, the Enoki Gyu Golden Mushroom was one of my fav, juicy beef wrapped ard enoki mushrooms, grilled till nicely charred w a lovely smoky flavour. The Wagyu Beef Stick was tender, beefy & nicely grilled, while the Butabara Pork Belly Shio was juicy, savoury & had just the right amount of char.🥩🐷 On the other hand, the Gyu Yaki Shio Beef was a little disappointing as the beef came across pretty dry, although the salt & pepper seasoning was decent

We also tried their Pork Katsu Cheese Pork Cutlet, but this one wasn’t quite worth the price for me @ $19.90. The cheese tasted more like sliced cheese, & the meat-to-batter ratio was pretty underwhelming, felt like around 50% meat & the rest was batter 😅

🍚 For mains, we had the Garlic Yaki Meishi Garlic Fried Rice. Pretty straightforward & decent, though it was slightly dry

Overall, there were some solid yakitori picks, esp the Enoki Gyu, Wagyu Beef Stick & Butabara Pork Belly! 🍢 If you’re here for the skewers, I’d stick to the grilled items rather than the pork katsu.

🍚 Garlic Yaki Meishi — fragrant garlic fried rice

The yakitori was the star — smoky, savoury and nicely charred, while the garlic fried rice is the kind of carb you keep going back for between skewers! ⭐️ And with individual skewers starting from around the $3 range, it’s an easy spot to order “one more round” without breaking the bank! 🙂‍↕️

Had a chill dinner at @qwabar and tried a mix of their Japanese bites & grilled favourites!

⭐️ MUST TRY 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲! It was so good.

Found another simple yet delicious lunch spot at Circular Road~

🍚 Oyakodon lunch set $9.90 (no gst but there’s service charge)

Comes with a veg miso soup and a small salad. Oyakadon is yummy and portion is just enough for me! Service was also great!

A little taste of Japan right in Clarke Quay 🇯🇵✨

@qwabar Bar is giving traditional Japanese vibes with a touch of Studio Ghibli — from the cosy interiors to the whole Japanese setting that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another little world.

And the food? 🔥 The yakitori and BBQ skewers were packed with flavour, the katsu was crispy on the outside but so tender inside, and the ramen broth was the kind of comforting bowl you just want to keep sipping.

Plus, there’s a pretty good selection of drinks to go with all that good food. 🍜🍢🍶

Definitely one for a Japanese izakaya-style night out at Clarke Quay!

Nothing beats winding down after a long day with a good meal, and Q-WA Bar & Yakitori is a great spot for smoky skewers, good food and a cosy buzz!

From comforting Tonkotsu Udon to wok-fried Sumibi Chahan and freshly grilled yakitori, there was plenty to enjoy. The ox tongue was tender and juicy, while the wagyu stick melted in the mouth.

💼 Working in the CBD? They also have affordable lunch sets that are tasty and easy on the wallet, perfect for a quick midday refuel!

💕 Good Food, Cosy Vibes, Happy Family Moments 💕

We recently dropped by @qwabar for dinner and it turned out to be such an enjoyable evening.

From the moment we walked in, we loved the beautiful and cosy ambience – warm, inviting and comfortable with a relax atmosphere that makes it easy to sit back, chat and enjoy a meal together. The service was friendly and attentive too , which makes our family experience more pleasant.
