Get to know me better …….#reignodessamedia

I played for a couple years leading up to
middle school . I played the drums during some school recitals , a summer camp , etc. I played the piano more Intimately.

I’ve written short stories , won writing contests , wrote for my school newspaper in elementary school & then briefly in college. I now have more than 10 published articles across a multitude of multimedia platforms . I used to write my own songs too .

I have more than 10 published articles across three different multimedia platforms including “BlackDoctors.org” , “Historically Black Since”, & now “TV ONE”!

I came up with the storyboard in 30 minutes in my notes app. Contributed to the hook of the song , classically sang on the song , & Led my team all while doing this.This showed me that I’m more than capable of chasing ALL of my dreams .

I was one of the youngest girls to be apart of a step team, I’ve danced in a multitude of genres ( from west African to ballet. I’ve performed at the White House during Obama’s presidency & took a masterclass with THE Debbie Allen! I’’ve also performed at The Kennedy center multiple times, etc.

I attended a performing arts high school (Duke Ellington School Of The Arts), where I studied vocal performance and discovered I’m a soprano (which is why I have a treble clef tattoo). I learned how to read sheet music during this time and sight-sing. I was in a choir and opened up for Maxwell when he performed with The National Symphony Orchestra with my show choir, traveled to NYC,etc.
*Fun fact—I haven’t sung or performed since 2022 (I’m finding my way back)

My dad passed more than 10 years ago & my pops passed my freshman year of college. My dad is the reason I can sing, as he used to sing himself when he was younger, & I got a lot of my musical talent from him. My pop pop helped raise me into the young woman I am today and is the reason I finished college. Everything I do is because of them.

I‘ve practiced and learned “mindfulness” & its importance since the age of 7. Due to the elementary school I went to, where we had “peace class,” my mom being a counselor & grandmother being a nurse, I learned at a

MANIFEST!!!!!!!!! @soulcenteratl is SEVEN today!!!! What a blessing. Started as a whisper from the ancestors in 2014— told a few fam, namely my brotha Dane in MN and my sis @astarisbrave —- sat on it, cuz I didn’t know what it meant—- kept making art—- moved to Atlanta and started working at Spelman and asked a group of students to join me in this idea of a SoulCenter—- they took the call and we got a space downtown ATL and started to make this world together. Deeply supported by genius @dare_uhh —- first fellow and divine co-thinker! (Thanks elder @ddprent )! Sat with the genius @staycuriouskd and literally built the foundation! Sat with @shaywafer and sharpened what was being made. Brought in @tormoore_ and @infinit3_lee and the world opened up!!! Brought in @blkteachergriot and @gracielajcain and the fellowship program FLEW! Met @breasington through @kevbecerra and Bre literally helped us vision our creative studio that has been the major income source for our work! Then we met the BOSS @jazminedior and she completely shifted the ways I looked at art and design.Then started collaborating with my guyyyy @chattam and @chadcolemanjr —- and the visuals and editing and story became GOLD! And met @times.new.ronin and @reaalstudio and @gbenga.27 and design became more of the vision. Seven years in! WE SELF SUSTAINABLE- WE BUILD ON OUR OWN TERMS! Wow. 4 Fellowship cohorts- Blk Arts Studio- SoulC Creative Studio partnering with designers around the Afro-diaspora- birthed an idea that’s now its own company (@hbcu.x )- films- shoots- and giving funds to Blk people to start their dreams! And most of all—— so much love and so much JOY—- and ON OUR TERMS!!! Thanks to everyone that has worked at SoulC, been a fellow, was a student of the studio, collaborative designer—— all my love to each of you. Wouldn’t be a center without you. Thanks to the spaces that have shared their funding with us—— @thekenekt @camelbackventures @sippculture @kenaninstituteforthearts !!! Thanks for my partner and my family for holding all of us.

Way back when, I used to teach elementary school. I taught 5th grade math and science. These are some of my former students. I’ve been blessed to connect with them and be engaged with them as they have graduated from high school, college, and gone on to do great things. I was such a young teacher and only about 12-15 years older than them when I taught😂😂😂. I’m just old enough to be their big sister now. ❤️❤️
