Some of you may have already seen our Tenere 700 at this years ABR festival. It served us well as a demonstration bike, fully kitted out with Öhlins suspension, Yamaha protection components and a very fetching graphic set to help us commemorate our 80 years in business.
.
Well an incredible bike needed and incredible owner. Meet Pete, a customer of ours for many years and a Yamaha enthusiast through and through!
.
Pete got hands on with this bike at ABR and as soon as it became available he knew this was the right machine to suit his needs! We can’t wait to see what he has planned for it next and what adventures this bike will take him on!

“I want to do a biker’s picnic somewhere and bring people back together.” 🥪☕️

Pete Hastelow (@r1soul ) pitched a cracking idea on Bru Time 203: rather than just congregating in a tarmac car park at Loomies, Squires, or the Ace Cafe, why not get a big field, sit down, share some food, and actually get to know each other face to face?

Only two simple rules:
1️⃣ No burnouts or wheelies
2️⃣ If you bring it, take your rubbish home!

“We grew up when you could laugh at things that were tongue-in-cheek. We had a sense of humour!” 📺

Growing up watching Bottom, Fawlty Towers, Not the Nine O’Clock News, and The Young Ones means your filter is built a little differently! 😂

Pete Hastelow (@r1soul ) joins me on Bru Time 203 to chat about the modern outrage culture, why he won’t censor who he is, and how life’s too short to walk on eggshells. If you don’t like it? Fair enough - see ya! 👋

“You didn’t know when your mate was suicidal, because you don’t see it.”

Beneath all the banter, silly posts, and boundary-pushing jokes, this is the real reason Pete Hastelow (@r1soul ) does what he does.

You never truly know the silent battles people are fighting behind closed doors. Sometimes just cracking a joke, dropping a daft meme, or making someone laugh when they’re at rock bottom is enough to keep them going for another day.

Check in on your mates today. A quick text or phone call costs nothing. ❤️

“It’s not a competition, everybody there wants to see you win.” 👏

When asked to pick his favourite motorcycle festival, Pete Hastelow (@r1soul ) didn’t hesitate: The @overlandevent

Whether it’s your first big overseas expedition, your first NC500 run, or simply your first time on an adventure bike, it’s all about inspiration, community, and encouragement without the ego.

What’s been your favourite bike event to date? Drop it below! 👇

The truth behind the infamous Frisky Friday posts! 😂💀

Pete Hastelow (@r1soul ) explains why he’s happy to take the heat and push the boundaries on social media: to give people a laugh when they might be going through it behind closed doors. Plus, taking one for the team when people send him posts they don’t dare put on their own feeds!

Full chat is packed with open-heart surgery recovery, stroke survival, bike talk, and endless laughs.

Moral compass? Completely cloudy. 🧭😂

A quick taste of the sheer chaos and unfiltered honesty with Pete Hastelow (@r1soul ) on Bru Time Episode 203.

One minute we’re talking open-heart surgery, post-op depression, and mental resilience - the next it’s Sunday roasts, G-strings, and £10 pub toilets.

“I went for a ride with the whole intention of not coming home.”

Episode 203 of the Bru Time podcast is LIVE, and it’s one of the most raw, honest, and laugh-out-loud funny chats we’ve had on the channel.

I’m joined by the one and only Pete Hastelow (@r1soul ).

Pete doesn’t hold back. We get into his childhood and adult open-heart surgeries, surviving a stroke, the brutal post-op depression that nearly ended it all, and the unforgettable moment on a Snowdonia mountain pass that flipped his mindset forever.

We also dive into:
• Why men need to start talking properly
• Rebuilding physical and mental fitness through yoga & ‘pre-covery’
• Owning the Yamaha R1 & Super Ténéré 1200 vs the new BMW R1300GS
• UK rally culture: ABR Festival vs Overland Gathering
• The story behind the Sparkle Riders & Frisky Friday
• Unearthing a 50-cal machine gun belt on a digger site!

Grab a brew, settle in, and get stuck into this one.

Next guest on the Bru Time Podcast is…🎙️🏍️

From high-octane sportsbikes to chewing up miles on adventure rigs, Pete Hastelow aka @r1soul is a familiar face across the UK biking scene, rallies, and ride-outs with a proper no-nonsense approach to two wheels, and a loose understanding of the term… ‘Personal Space’ 🤓

A heart transplant survivor from an early age, he’s got a zest for life and enthusiasm for fun akin to a toddler - with a ‘filter’ to match!

We’re recording tomorrow evening (Fri 21st Aug), so if you’ve got a question for Pete - whether it’s about bikes, his mindset, or life in general - drop it in the comments below and we’ll get it answered! 👇

We love bumping into people who follow the page – especially Pete, who recently won our giveaway. What a top guy! 🙌

Andie caught up with Pete at ABR Festival 2026 and fired a few quick questions his way… he had some great answers! 🤝

P.S. It was so hot we had to take the back wall off the stand… so if you spot the Enterprise van making a surprise cameo in the background, now you know why! 😂☀️
