There’s a lot of good growing at Hope Farms. 🌱

Our own Chef Bart Black served as point chef at the Texas Chefs Association’s Farm Walk, representing Pro Reps Solutions and Electrolux Professional Group.

Located in Houston’s Sunnyside neighborhood, Hope Farms is a seven-acre urban farm created by Recipe for Success Foundation. The farm helps address limited access to grocery stores by growing fresh, affordable produce for the surrounding community.

That work extends beyond the harvest. Hope Farms also offers cooking and gardening classes for children and adults, along with training and business support for aspiring urban farmers. Together, these programs help people learn how to grow, prepare, and enjoy fresh food while creating opportunities in agriculture.

At Pro Reps Solutions, we’re proud to see our culinary community connect with organizations working to make good food more accessible. Thank you to Hope Farms and the Texas Chefs Association for bringing everyone together, and to Chef Bart for representing our team!

🌱 Good things grow when communities come together!

This week, Plant It Forward joined @rollacshutters for a wonderful gathering of Houston nonprofits, sharing our missions and exploring opportunities to collaborate.

A huge thank you to Nina, Jessica, and the Rollac team for building a company culture rooted in service, volunteerism, and giving back!

💚 We especially enjoyed connecting with @thecachouston @r4sfoundation @childrenatrisk whose work intersects with ours around important themes:

🌱 Food. Nutrition. Children. Families. Opportunity.

Access to fresh, nutritious food helps build healthier families, stronger communities, and brighter futures for Houston’s children.

We were also inspired by Rollac’s story as a multigenerational family business with immigrant roots—a journey that resonates deeply with our immigrant and refugee farmers.

Great partnerships often start with a simple conversation. 💚

Thank you, Rollac, for bringing us together. We’re excited to see what we can grow together!

@heathercarlucci reminded me that 10 years ago today I was in New York, getting the star treatment from Meredith Corp when they launched our “Partnership to Change the World”. #headydays

Some assignments come with a little more heat. 🌶️🔥

I had the pleasure of serving as a judge for Coming in Hot, the annual hot sauce competition presented in partnership with Hope Farms. Amateur home cooks and professional chefs brought their original sauces and trust me, they did not come to play!

As a judge, I wasn’t simply looking for the sauce that could set my mouth on fire. I was looking for balance, depth, creativity and the kind of flavor that makes you go back for another taste even after the heat hits.

Because heat may get your attention, but flavor is what makes a hot sauce memorable.

If you entered, what would you bring: sweet heat, smoky and savory, or full on fire? 👀🌶️

Behind every incredible bite at Chefs for Farmers Food and Wine Festival is a real Texas farmer, rancher, or producer. Our mission has always been simple: put our local agricultural heroes front and center by pairing them directly with top chefs, funding their ingredients, and celebrating the hardworking hands that feed our state.

When you join us, you’re not just hitting a tasting event—you’re directly supporting Texas farms and tasting what happens when world-class chefs cook with the freshest local harvest. Grab your crew, come hungry, and let’s celebrate the legendary farmers and chefs making Texas flavor unmatched! 🎟️🔥

🌱 #ICYMI: Our #HBCU EJCC interns recently visited Hope Farms, where they gained hands-on experience in growing healthy food from seed to harvest.

Students learned how to plant, cultivate, and harvest crops, prepare fresh produce, and create simple, nutritious meals that families can enjoy together. The visit offered valuable insight into the connection between food, health, and community well-being. #EJCC2026

In a city as big as Houston, there are so many incredible organizations making a difference every single day, and I really appreciate working for a company that encourages employees to get involved in the communities we serve. To celebrate Volunteer Month last month, our Houston team spent the day volunteering at Hope Farms (@r4sfoundation) helping get everything ready for their Earth Day Festival, and it ended up being such a rewarding experience.

Hope Farms is a Houston nonprofit focused on improving access to healthy food while also creating educational opportunities and community programs throughout the area. Spending the day there and seeing how much work goes into maintaining spaces like this honestly gave me such an appreciation for everything they do. Our @constellationenergy team helped by:

✨ Planting 23 fruit trees
✨ Refreshing pepper beds throughout the farm
✨ Installing parking bollards
✨ Building tables for the Children’s Garden
✨ Helping set up shade, seating and signage across the property

It was definitely one of those days that reminds you how much impact people can make when they show up together. Looking forward to my next volunteer event with a team so dedicated to making a difference!

When heritage meets heart… you show up for both 🇮🇹❤️

From an evening celebrating la dolce vita with the Italian Cultural & Community Center—surrounded by privately owned Ferraris and a beautiful expression of Italian culture in our city—to a meaningful night at Steak 48 supporting the incredible mission of Recipe for Success Foundation… this week was one for the soul.

Being Italian isn’t just in my name—it’s woven into my family, my traditions, and everything I hold dear. So it’s truly an honor to share I’ll be co-chairing this year’s Italian Cultural & Community Center luncheon on October 20thalongside the fabulous @RacheldRegan. 💚🤍❤️

And as for Recipe for Success… supporting an organization that’s shaping healthier futures for our children? That’s always a yes. Looking forward serving on the Host Committee for the upcoming Delicious Alchemy Banquet this November as they celebrate 21 years of impact—bravissimo. 🥗👏

Culture, community, and causes that matter… now that’s a calendar I’ll always try to make room for. 🗓️
