Wishing you all a lovely Christmas & happy holidays however you celebrate 💫

If, like me, the festive season is feeling a bit tough this year 💔 focus on the mince pies or the fairy lights ✨ or the quieter relaxed days or getting lost in a book or a boxset. Escapism rocks, so take care, it’s only one day 😉 ❤️🎄

I’ve just received photos of the Riso Open Call ‘Window Into Spring’ exhibition at @riso_pop in Amsterdam I took part in earlier this month.

Oh it looks so good! I wish I could’ve been there, but these photos are the next best thing 🌟

I know 2 other artists who were in the exhibition, the amazing @korrieschenkel & Sarah @sweat_tearsandthesea 💫 I’ve tagged their work in the photos for you to see their gorgeous work 🎨

A massive huge big thanks to Aafke & team at @riso_pop for such a fun open call. It looks like the best weekend 🌟

🖌 Check this out! 🖌

For a recent project, in collaboration with @abc_council, Armagh TH and @lurganth, UAH commissioned a series of illustrations to showcase the rich variety and character of shopfronts and signage throughout Northern Ireland. ✍💈

My attempt at an hand drawn illuminated/manuscript style letter R (there’s a small S and D in there too, my friend Rachel’s initials). Unfortunately It didn’t turn out how I originally envisaged it. I wanted it to be in colour and did a couple of test ones which just looked shite so decided to scrap them and start again, sticking to black ink on ivory card, embossing the R. What do you think?

Anyway I realise everything I post on here doesn’t have to be perfect, and I hope to go back to this again another time maybe trying gouache paints.

Handmade Birthday paper flowers made from the insides of old envelopes as a special birthday gift for @rachel.devlin.art xxx
I’ve always been obsessed by the security patterns inside envelopes 😍 I was even chatting to @lauracraigdesign the other night about them. She has created an amazing gif using them, go check it out.
Anyway I’ve used them for many years in collages and drawings, I even used them when making my cousin Gillian’s @gillian.wallace.391 wedding invites back in 2006 (I think) and a canvas as a gift for a friend (see last couple of pics).

On 5th October, my 'Elmer & The Butterflies' sculpture, along with the full herd from Elmer's Big Belfast Trail, is off to auction to raise money for the @nihospice - my fingers are crossed for some great bids at the event!

If you're not able to bid on my elephant, you might like this idea. I've got limited edition, specially designed Butterfly prints inspired by 'Elmer & the Butterflies' to keep the fundraising going for @elmerbelfast available from both my stall at @stgeorgesbelfast and in my Etsy shop now.

50% of the profits of each print will go directly to the Hospice 💓

You can order online at:
watercolourskyni.etsy.com

Thanks 🙏🏻💗

Sneaky sneak peek of a tiny part of a BIG project I’ve been working on for aaaages.

Everything is finally coming to a head 😅 and I’ll be sharing all the biz in about a week.

I’ve got a huge to do list before next week, but I’ll get there 🤩

I’ll be riding the rollercoaster of that nervous-excited-nervous feeling but here goes!🎢 🙃🙂🙃😆

Hello 👋 I’m back in the studio full time after spending the last 2 weeks painting an Elmer the elephant sculpture for the @nihospice @elmerbelfast
It was such a wonderful experience, I loved every single minute of it 🐘🎨🥰

I’ve been sharing more of the painting process on my illustration account @rachel.devlin.art - here’s a little work in progress video I posted recently on my art account.

I’m getting so excited to share the final design and for you to see all the other incredible artists designs 🤩

Go follow 👉 @elmerbelfast for details of the Big Belfast Elmer Trail and where the painted Elmers will be touring around NI. There’ll be a map, an app and lots of cool Elmer things happening, and all in aid of the NI Hospice 💖🐘💖
