POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve been feeling really stuck, like a lot of elder millennials and not at all living the life I expected. Yesterday I started dreaming the absolute best version of my life thanks to an inspo post by @rachelsopsanders 💜

It might sound boring to some, but it’s everything to me

Work
- Owning my own thing or working VERY part time on little things. Able to schedule myself and don’t need to ask for permission to take vacation. Time for life
- Crazy amount of money made from SOMETHING I build. But I still don’t want to work a ton of hours

Relationship
- Can’t keep our hands off each other, butterflies feelings 🦋
- Sharing the housework and mental load, helping each other
- Regular date nights

Family
- Able to see family often
- Family dinners, live near support system and the kiddo can spend time with them
- Trips with family
- Seeing my brother more than every other year

Travel
- Weekend trips, hiking, lakes, national parks
- Beach trips
- The big travel list with all the awesome places
- Enough money to do frequent vacations and do some longer things in the summer

Hobbies
- Build furniture! Buy things from estate sales and rework them
- finish all the furniture I’ve collected
- Learn to actually build. Do a table or something more complex

Personal
- In my best shape! Exercising regularly and feeling good about it
- Eating healthy, prepping meals that are good for me
- Getting all my regular checks from doctors

Money?
- Doesn’t feel like a burden. Enough to be comfortable, give some, and feel good about the future
- A solid retirement
- Able to give my kid a good life

Now that I’ve put it out there, which I’m actually pretty nervous to do, I have to start the work to live this dream life!

Most people think hormone health is just about hitting a certain number on a blood test

The facts are two people can have the exact same testosterone levels..let’s say 800 and feel completely different

One thrives with energy, focus, and drive… while the other still feels sluggish, foggy, and off

Why? Because numbers don’t tell the whole story

Your body’s receptors, your sensitivity, your downstream pathways, all of these play a role in how your hormones actually function in real life

Lab values are a reference point, but what really matters is how you feel, perform, and recover day to day

That’s why optimization isn’t about chasing a number, it’s about finding your personal balance. When your testosterone, IGF, thyroid, and other key hormones are aligned, you don’t just see better labs… you experience better sleep, sharper focus, improved recovery, and a sense of vitality that numbers alone can’t explain

This is the art and science of hormone optimization: not treating the paper, but treating the person

CORTISOL is most known as a stress hormone. But CORTISOL is the main hormone to also drive ENERGY and MOOD. Energy to wake up in the morning, energy to go to school or work, energy to do movement or sport, energy for life after work hours, pick up your kids drive them to activities and so on. Yes CORTISOL can produce STRESS. But CORTISOLS is not a stress hormone it’s main job is to produce ENERGY. CORTISOL needs to be HIGH in the MORNING, fade out during the evening and definitely LOW during the NIGHT. When you are aware of that you can start influencing your rhythm of your 24 hour CORTISOL rhythm. CORTISOL is a steroid hormone. CORTISOL is activated by LIGHT. Called the 24 hours CIRCADIAN rhythm. First hour of being awake is the highest hour of your CORTISOL, and also in this hour you have the greatest impact on influencing your CORTISOL RYTHM. So how is CORTISOL generated? Cortisol is regulating itself up and down under normal conditions and rhythm. So how does stress impact? For example you are on the bike almost hit by a car luckily not. Your ADRENALINE hits in straight away and fade after you realize you are fine. The wave of CORTISOL comes in only 10 min after an incident. Why you still can feel your heartbeat is elevated and your body is tense even after what happened. So how we can influence a healthy rhythm of CORTISOL? The ONE HOUR LOOP of the highest level of CORTISOL is in the morning. With light. To influence your redna in your eyes to SPARK your MORNING CORTISOL, studies shows up to 50%. Ideally it’s REAL SUN LIGHT you go outside take your classes of watch the sun rise or first beams of light. YES you can do it on cloudy days, even more important. You don’t have access to natural light in the mornings you can use artificial red lights. THIS is REALLY the KEY to influence your own CORTISOL Healthy RYTHM. All new studies show. For more details lastes podcast of Hubermanlab on CORTISOL.The HIGHER you are able to PEAK your HIGH level of CORTISOL in the morning. The bigger influence you will have on the LOWER curve in the evening and NIGHT. Which will allow you to FALL a SLEEP in the EVENING.
