Pouring into the students and staff at Long Beach City College last week with @denmeditation for @lacdmh event was pure joy. Mental Health Awareness month is an opportunity to not only raise awareness but to educate, provide resources and reduce the stigma around mental health diagnosis. I’ve personally have come a long way from my bouts of depression and suicide ideations. As well as grown in the mental health advocacy space in my mental health crusader days in my hometown of NYC (IFYKYK) during a time when speaking about it was unheard of and often judged in my Afro-Caribbean community and household. Look how far we have come ya’ll. I see us going to talk therapy and integrating complementary care and practices like mindfulness, energy work, somatics, emdr, parts work and mutual aid.

I am always so excited to aligned with folks like @denmeditation to bring the balance, joy and magic to spaces that can benefit from present time awareness. To be able to pour into nursing students who frequently stopped by our tent felt even more purposeful. More of this please 🥰

Tagging a few mental health resources on here if you are looking for licensed mental health support. Feel free to tag yourself in the comments if you are open to client work or tagged helpful resources ❤️

Life lately… has been FULL — and fulfilling. 🙂‍↔️

I’ve been reflecting on how this time last year I was in the depths of grief and in sacred solitude, honoring my personal needs and holding space for myself.

What’s unfolded since then has gently guided me into this next chapter. 🦋

To now be back in full service to community — connecting, educating, spreading love and warmth — feels deeply nourishing for my soul.

I’ve been so lit up by the abundance of opportunities to share my work in new spaces and with new people, expand my offerings, and to be reminded of WHY it all matters. 💗

I’m so grateful for everyone and everything that continues to meet me here along the way.

If you’re reading this, I hope you’re able to honor your own unfolding exactly as it is, and keep coming back to yourself — even in the seasons that feel uncertain.

And if you need support, I’m here for you. 🫶🏽
