Love at first sight is supposed to be the beginning of a happily ever after… but what if it’s only the beginning of something far more disturbing?

“The Miracle” by Las Vegas filmmaker Dannzel Escobar (@filmstreet.us), follows Elaine and David, two strangers whose chance meeting at a café quickly blossoms into an intense romance. As their relationship deepens, hidden insecurities, clashing personalities, repressed desires, and escalating emotional volatility begin to surface, transforming an ordinary love story into a darkly comic examination of modern relationships.

Written and directed by Dannzel Escobar, The Miracle draws inspiration from classic screwball comedies while embracing a more twisted psychological edge. The film challenges the social pressure to “find the right one,” asking whether some relationships survive not because they’re meant to, but because walking away feels even harder.

Blending romance, satire, and psychological drama, The Miracle invites audiences to laugh, cringe, and perhaps even recognize pieces of themselves along the way.

"I think Dan sometimes gets forgotten. Whether it was random, whether it was intentional, he went out in that desert with Spit, and they died together, and they died for the thing that brought them together."

In this exclusive clip from Pj Perez's in-progress documentary MURDERED ON THE FOURTH OF JULY, a spotlight is shone on Daniel Shersty, who was killed with his friend Lin "Spit" Newborn by racist skinheads 28 years ago this weekend.

In the middle of COVID lockdown independent films were still being made. Only with masks, medical grade sanitizer, and single serve craft services. Our film “Oh, The Guilt” was one such film.

BTS Shot by @sonleee, @akmofo, Shahab Zargari. Edited by Shane Pullar.

Shot at @salmannaq and @heeeeela’s homes, Kelso Dunes, and @light_forge_studios. Score recorded by @bruemusic at @unlvaudioproduction @unlv_music with the help of our lovely crowd funding backers!!

2025 was, I suppose, a year of change and progress, bad and good. Said goodbye forever to both furry and human friends. Made an unexpected career pivot that left behind people and a place that had become a second home. Got a long-gestating film project into production. Put another one back on track. Made new connections and refreshed old ones along the way. It felt like an overwhelming year, and my life at the beginning feels very different than my life now moving into 2026. And yet, somehow, not much different at all. I guess that's just how life works, huh?

A guarantee about my upcoming film, a micro short written by @ekmxsngh called ‘Beyond the Pane’: the film will have tons of easter eggs jam packed into the three minute run time. 🤭 A little over a year in the making! STAY TUNED 👉🏽 #beyondthepanefilm

For the film *Oh, The Guilt*, we shot these two scenes intending to use a movement match cut: once Mahtab passes by the camera, we’re already seeing her arrive at her destination. Second unit director @traiana7 did a superb job with the bedroom mirror shot, but when it came time to shoot the bike scene, the whole thing looked better on screen with the bike entering from the left. That meant that in post-production we had to flip the image so that her exit from the room and her arrival on the bike were both moving in the same direction. Once flipped, we superimposed the house number so it wouldn’t read backward and did a little bit of vfx as she rides right in front of the house number for a split second. Maybe it's a coincidence this production came together the week of Thanksgiving. But maybe it's not, because spending four days overseeing the production of Constant Hum—a short film based on a story by Nick Wells, co-written by Terrence Williams & co-written & directed by @rainyvalley —certainly has me feeling thankful.

Thankful for the amazing cast & crew who endured & stayed creative & collaborative thru long hours, quick-changing weather & on-the-fly decision-making. Thankful to the kind folks at Watson Elementary School and the amazing Kat at @moonlitmagiclv for donating their time and locations. Thankful for the weather, the safety of our sometimes-guerilla sets, the happy accidents that made things work out.

And right now, thankful to be wrapped for now (minus some pickups and then of course post-production), so everyone can enjoy some much-deserved rest.
