For the past 4 summers, we have lived out of our @toyota Sienna with 3 kids and 2 dogs, camping around the USA!

Does it sound a little unhinged? Probably 😂 But our summer road trips are the highlight of our year and something we always look forward to!

This most recent summer, we spent time traveling the PNW and absolutely fell in love!

What questions do you have about this style of travel? Drop them below and I'd love to answer them!

We planned this adventure around Dry Falls, a waterfall you can walk behind, and ended up finding one of our favorite family camping spots yet.

Van Hook Glade Campground is a hidden gem tucked in the North Carolina mountains, with dreamy forest campsites, easy access to epic hikes, and quiet creekside mornings. We explored waterfalls, hiked beautiful trails, and ended each day with fun campfire meals.

If you’re a family in the Southeast looking for your next camping trip, this is a must-plan adventure. It’s peaceful, wild, and full of magic.

“What do I DO with my kiddo when I’m trying set up camp?!”

Outdoor Mama Katie Demme says, “Involve them in the process!”

Whether you’re in the backcountry or your backyard, here are some stellar ideas to engage your kiddo the next time you’re setting up for a night outdoors:

- Connect tent poles or pound in stakes ⛺️
- Clear rocks and other debris from the tent site 🪨
- Protect exposed skin with Picaridin and sunscreen ☀️
- Blow up sleeping pad for a good night’s rest 💤
