«Vinden følger åndene, i snø, bortover havet, i motsatt retning av bølgene mot fjærastein, lager skyggespill på bølgene, flyr avgårde.» Three weeks ago we finalized our project version #3 of Gift of Stone. A small, but big project expressing much and little, as fullfilled as unfilled at the same time, it continues to develop with the elements which are near, local and close! This presentation became for me a very symbolic action, knowing that we are just a small tiny part of a vast big mother of belonging! The day after our presentation the norwegian government went out with a direction of national quarantine for most of people- suggesting us all to stay as much home as possible! After this day I have been listening and reading about the global situation which becomes local too! Gift of Stone concerned the local as its original step. An honor to nature, to the Sea Sámi landscape in thw north, a poem to each exisiting life and a concern for how we treat our living surroundings, people and sentient beings. We danced in circles and yoiked the traditional tunes. Heartful gratitude to the moment of unperfection! Just is, just being. Thank you Johan Sara Jr., Ramona Salo Myrseth and Torgrim Halvari for the collaboration once again with (composition and yoik), (scenography and clothing), (performing) and (photography!) Thank you to Marlene- Martin Bjørnsgaard stepping in as journey guide! Thank you Rannveig Salo for creating the wool clothing, Trond Henriksen for wood construction and Diego Belda for installing in the space and transporting material. The project was supported by Riksscenen, Black Box Teater, Fond for utøvende kunstnere and Sametinget. Presented as a part of ARV OG LANDSKAP with Otto Ramstad at Riksscenen under Oslo International Theatre Festival 2020. Produced by G. Bjørnsgaard at Riksscenen. Photos by. Oslo Internasjonale Teaterfestival 2020 came to an abrupt end, but we had 7 out of 10 incredible festival days with an exciting scenic program, full houses and a great atmosphere among both the audience and the artists 💫⁣⁣
⁣
It is sad that many of the performances, talks & seminars could not happen as planned. We hope that most of them can be rescheduled. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Thank you so much to all who came to the festival this year! It’s been a true pleasure to share #OITF20 with you! ❤️⁣⁣

We have so many good pictures from this night! Gift of Stone was shown at Riksscenen during the Oslo Internationale Teaterfestival, and we had the best time. Due to the situation in the world many of our projects are cancelled, so this evening means a lot to us. We will be back soon 💙 and I will keep posting some pictures 💙

Last week I got to document "Gift of Stone" with some pictures and video, the performance of @katarinahvitetara , @ramonasal0 , @marlene.mb and @johansarajr at @riks_scenen during #oslointernasjonaleteaterfestival - the day before the cancellation of the remaining festival due to the corona outbreak. Nevertheless, a beautiful project combining traditional and newfound personal expressions of sea Sami culture.
