Episode 128 is Out! 🎧

Just the usual gang today to recap the last few weeks of races, and some seriously impressive feats of human endurance for special causes.

Chris and Simon have sensible training weeks, while Vici runs a big PB at City to Surf to cap off her month of ‘solid’ runs/races.

We had our on the ground reporter in Bryan Lip covering the Cocos (keeling) Islands Marathon in our unexpected ‘Getaway’ segment, the WAMC Perth 32, the Soul Runners Trail Blaze Fun Run and the spectacle that was the Sydney Marathon and City to Surf.

Bryan’s back with an energetic Sydney recap with WA’s marathon power couple and friends, we find out more about the 5km road race on the 6th December and we do another call out for pacers for the Perth Running Festival.

Phil Gore, a Jesse Chambers update and the Low Ceiling Podcast Transcend team feature in this week’s Weapons of WARP.

5th place at Ultra Trail Australia 🇦🇺 50k

Same result as last year, but 1 minute faster — so I’ll take that as a positive. After the disappointment of a DNF at Tarawera earlier this year, it felt good to put together a solid race and get some confidence back

Made things a bit harder for myself early on with the wrong headlamp choice and lost some time in the opening section, but overall I’m happy with how the day played out

Big positive as well: this was the first race where I managed to hit 130g of carbs per hour the whole way through. The fueling strategy felt solid and definitely gives me confidence moving into the next block of races

Always a special event at UTA with such a strong field and unreal atmosphere out on the trails
