This is the last lure we fished during the recent session. Fish Arrow Flash J 4" SW, color Luminova (Glow). SW is a salt water model which is more durable than a freshwater model. During our field test, this soft plastic minnow withstood multiple king salmon battles.

Gan Craft Z-Bite Crank, color Ghost Shad. This coho salmon followed Z-Bite for a while & finally decided to hit it at the very end.

Captain Randy is catching really nice salmon. Looks like we are having a great salmon season this year. If anyone wants to get out & catch some salmon, I suggest reaching out to captain Randy directly.

Had some big shoes to fill subbing in for @kayla_besch, but ended up doing OK with @randysfishing. 17lbs for 5th place and Big Bass honors with a 5.24lb largemouth. Cold and flu meds allowed me to fish slow enough to get a couple bites 🤣

Finally got it done! 1st place on a stingy Fox Chain of Lakes with @randysfishing

The Qualich bros took home 3rd place, so we got to recreate the family Christmas card for 2026, this time holding some plaques. 🤣

Walking away with some steak money and momentum for the next one!

In the midst of new fatherhood and life at full throttle, my wife Taylor and I carved out one non-negotiable mission: a 5-hour midnight run to Milwaukee to hunt world-class trophy trout with Captain Randy.
What followed was three straight days of pure adrenaline and dreams realized.

Day one hit like lightning. Finesse tactics connected instantly, and the fish were absolute slabs. Personal bests fell left and right — until the ultimate moment. A monstrous hen brown appeared on the live scope. I made it happen. The fight was savage, the net shot pure electricity through my veins. That beast was my personal best trout ever — a true Badger State giant. Taylor was right there, camera in hand, smiling behind the lens as we measured and admired the fish of a lifetime.

Day two brought more heavy browns and our first steelhead action. Watching Taylor crank in her own solid steelie was unforgettable. Even the local veterans started shadowing us, trying to crack the code.

Day three tested everything. Brutal cold, weekend crowds, and lockjaw trout turned it into a masterclass in finesse and persistence. We still delivered — more quality browns and steelheads — proving that the hardest days forge the greatest victories.

Three days. World-class fish. New father. New mom stepping boldly into the outdoors. One legendary guide.
This wasn’t just a fishing trip — it was a full-throttle assault on the dream, crushing personal records and etching memories in Midwest trout lore that most anglers will chase their whole lives. Badger State slabs. Family grit. Unforgettable dominance.
