The prompt….Milwaukee Through the Glass.

Our Digital Photo and Design students took their skills to Milwaukee completing a series of photo challenges throughout the day.

From leading lines and reflections to the rule of thirds, sub-framing, and worm’s-eye perspective, students used their own creative lens to put these composition skills into practice. 📸🤳📷

That's all folks...

Thanks to everyone that participated in this year's Beer Bazaar canvas mural community project. All canvases were colored by all those from the public.

Everything has been removed but it's okay. Follow either me @samthejam_artist or the @grayslake_arts_alliance for future projects similar to this.

A big shout out to @randysweitzer, @lauracastanosart, @schenksa and @thebeerbazaar for making this happen.

The Illinois Art Education Association is pleased to recognize Grayslake North High School as a 2026 School of Distinction. This is the Seventh year of this award.

This recognition celebrates schools with rigorous art, design, and media education programs. To earn the School of Distinction Award Grayslake North High School evidenced practices directly reflecting the Illinois Professional Teaching Standards, the Illinois Fine Arts and Media Standards, and Social-Emotional Learning Priorities.

Participating in high-quality art, design, and media courses develops student creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills in valuable ways. Students in these programs gain social and emotional skills along with college, career, and citizenship readiness. Research indicates that schools with successful programs like that at Grayslake North High School experience increased student attendance, engagement, and academic performance when compared with schools that don’t.

Words can’t describe what being in the Grayslake North art camp means to me especially post graduation. This is gonna be pretty sappy but I loved seeing how the underclassman I knew while at north grew and evolved. I adored working with this amazing group of people on this camp!!

I can’t believe it’s already over but it truly means so much for me to have been apart of this camp from the beginning and to watch it grow and evolve. Thank you Bott and Sweitzer for having me back this year I miss being in y’all’s classes and seeing you every day 💙
