10 years ago, in the summer of 2015, I randomly stepped into an abandoned waterpark, without knowing this would quietly shape the next decade of my life. 10 years have passed, I’ve met countless people sharing the same interest, and some became friends; visited many small towns which I’d otherwise pass by; wrote more than 200,000 words and published a book; had one camera, Nikon D750, for 9 years which was broken this spring. For the decade, my presence before the lens was rare, and these 15 self portrait described it perfectly. 📷: 2015-2025

Last night's opening of Entropy: Urban Exploring Exposition could not have gone better! It was several weeks in the making, planning, selecting artists, collecting their work - my friend s0s1nc3r3 handled the brunt of that element while I was almost entirely focussed on my part of the exhibit. I was very lucky to have made contact with the nephew of a woman who passed away several years ago, he is now the executor of her estate. The woman's house has been abandoned for several years and in very rough shape. I asked the man if I could enter the house, capture photos of items in the house, and then bring those items into an exhibition to accompany the photos that I took. The result was a tangible viewing experience where the visitors could see and smell the items in the photos. I left them dirty and dusty, almost exactly as they were when inside the house. In the main gallery, 10 other fellow explorers and photographers displayed their work from all over the world. We had photographers from all over Canada, one from the US and one from China. @Amidtheabandoned @Brentsoutdoors @Dauntless_obscura @Efp_urbex @frankxphoto @freaktography @Glmtphotos @International_adam @Rantropolis @s0s1nc3r3 @truenorthurbex S0s1nc3r3 covered the walls with 100’s of photos, and he hung two large old windows from the ceiling with photos on each side of the glass panels. The soundtrack of the evening was provided by @djmarinko, who also co-presented this event through his business venture called @notl.gallery. And the drinks were poured and served by our host venue - @IronwoodCider in Niagara on the Lake. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this such a huge success, the exhibition is on until December, maybe until January and is free to visit at Ironwood Cider. Stay tuned for Entropy II - we’re just getting started! #EntropyExhibition #UrbanExploration #UrbexPhotography #Freaktography #UrbanExhibit #AbandonedPlaces #UrbanDecay #PhotographyExhibition #ArtShow #VisualStorytelling #AbandonedHouse #ExploringAbandonedPlaces

As above so below. This photo continues where my last post left off. We didn’t run into anymore workers and enjoyed wandering into the wee hours. After, a few of us went to sleep in the closed off section of the Canal Saint-Martin.
