Throwback to my RD Assessment! 🇧🇷

This one was extra special because I had the opportunity to do it in Brazil, for the first-ever HYROX race in South America.

Leading a new team, stepping into a new territory, and working with amazing people from different markets was an incredible experience. But what made it even more special was how Team Sports Brazil became more than just a team — You also became family. 🫶🏾

How we live our lives is far more important than what, where and when life events take place - because these can change and more often than not, they are beyond our locus of control.

This mindset changes the energy I bring to my circumstance, and brings the intention and gratitude to know, work or learn from people from so many corners of the world. Sometimes I get to hear their stories, and share a bit of life together and those are the moments that end up becoming the highlight of each race weekend. 💞

New HYROX season has just started with Jakarta and Hangzhou and there are already life lessons learned and growth that’s happened. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 🐍

I don’t really know where to start with this one (like always). Because these past 3 months I, once again, lived five different trips in one.

I finally went back to South Africa!!! after a whole year and wow… it was ABSOLUTELY about time. WHOA.
I don’t think I’ve felt this happy in a while 🫀

I spent proper time with my mum
proper time = doing absolutely nothing
but starting the day at the gym
and ending it tipsy at a wine farm :)

my favourite @liv.knz joined for a week 🌞
but WHAT a week lol.
Let’s just say we turned Hostelworld into our personal social experiment and fully committed to the bunk bed life -
which, for extra character development, ended in bed bugs 😍😍😍
(because otherwise, boring)

Then I bought a tandem hahaha.
another very random (and slightly unnecessary) addition to my backpacker lifestyle. Also I underestimated how HUGE a tandem is???
Anyways, the plan was to ride the Cape Town Cycle Tour together with @lorena_he
until plans changed, the tandem stayed home
and I somehow ended up riding the whole thing alone 🙂
YEP.

109km & 1500m elevation gain- absolutely no big deal, considering Hamburg is basically below sea level and the highest climb I know is my parents’ driveway 👍
BUT. I smashed it. In 5,5 hours with no training??? Maybe it’s time to change careers.
@villaamanzihoutbay 🫶🏼 couldn’t have done this without you.

After approximately zero days of sore legs (!!!)
Liv left, @taylorslipp arrived YEY, and at this point my social life felt like a relay race 🫡
We tried to fit three months of life into another ten days- which, for us, basically looked like
party, penguins, pilates, and power naps.

To wrap up my time in Cape Town
I joined my team for literally THE BEST HYROX South Africa has seen so far.
I’m still not over this ❤️
The energy, the passion, the people are DIFFERENT
and me? anawa a a -I really feel like I belong here.

Honestly? I can’t think about the last few days without getting so emotional.

I’m welling up as I try to write about the end to this trip.

The last month has been hard. There is a lot going on in my little world.

Paris - it feels like home. There is something about the city, the people. J’adore mon équipe française!

I have so much love for my ‘job’. It’s my blessing and my curse. Anything I do in life I have to do it 110%. I put a lot of pressure on myself and I have a super high bar. I’m always practicing being kinder to myself and constantly trying to quieten the harsh and negative voice.

This trip for me was like a big exhale. It was only short, but it was everything I love about what I get to call work. It brought me back to myself and grounded me in why I love HYROX and why I get up every morning trying to make things a little better.

I needed Paris 💙🤍❤️

----FIRST AND LAST----

Il y a pile un an, j’accompagnais @max_villla et ses équipes pour le tout premier @hyrox.france au @le_grand_palais. Pour moi, c’était aussi ma toute dernière fois à tenir les rênes d’un grand événement ici, "chez moi au Big Palace", après 15 ans dans la peau de facilitatrice d'événements.

Moi qui disais : “ce n’est pas mon truc, je vous regarde.” Aujourd’hui, me voilà de l’autre côté : à sprinter, pousser, tirer, porter, sauter...À sourire|grimacer dans la foulée de mon acolyte de défi.

Un an après mon “jamais”, la boucle est bouclée et la page est bien tournée. Merci pour cette première fois, qui 365 jours plus tard, ici à Malaga, prend tout son sens.

Le cardio s’emballe vite. L’adrénaline monte brutalement. Une sensation de grand huit se déclenche à chaque tour. C'est renversant. C'est divertido !
