Another Sidequest weekend, CrossFit edition (no I’ve never even done a class but let’s L-I-V-E) @crossfit.retro held a @thetruchallenge this weekend so I figured why not give it a go. Yeah I was first and last apparently I’m the only novice crossfitter 🤗. But hey they score it nationally in a few days so it’s not just me v me.

Wod thoughts:

WOD1: Rowing is FUN 1:38 500 buy into amrap. Ring rows are NOT fun. Neither are squats, but American KB swings ARE.

WOD 2: yeah I haven’t benched in two months let’s not talk about it.

WOD 3: ayyy we having fun again doing lunges and holding weight for 1 min at a time. Oh and ain’t done a med ball sit up thing ever so more Learning as we go.

WOD 4: Burpees are FUN, I have only jump rope 4x in my life so that was an experience doing it at 180 BPMs.

Onward we go 🤘

Ty to everyone who showed up to support us. Greatest way to start off my first comp and I couldn't have done it without you guys. Also for being the loudest ones in the room❤️ and biggest thanks to coach @its_blasian (training does pay off lol). Cheers to the first dub and many more to come🤞

August dump and life updates:

* Over active QL led to time off bike. Started running and joined @rappsc as issue only presented on bike.

* moved into a house @grace_duplantier001 and I bought

* got bullied into doing a Hyrox with @j.sligh in 7 days on 2 weeks of training 😂

Life takes weird turns be L-I-V-I-N

Guess I’m a hybrid athlete now?

Victory does not praise me; defeat does not deter me.
I seek something more.

A weekend that will go down in history as the weekend that I discovered my confidence. I certainly did not go in expecting a win, especially after scoping out my competition. How fortunate I was to share the floor with all of the amazing athletes @metconrush and how fortunate I am to have come so far in such a short amount of time thanks to @jacobxavierwilson and his programming (hit him up if you’re trying to get better.. and suffer through all of your weaknesses every. Single. Day.). The win was a bonus to a weekend filled with lessons, new friendships, and growth.

Absolutely unreal photos and videos by an unreal team- can’t wait to share more from:

I’m happy to set up my own equipment, but I really appreciate Melissa prepping the whole box so I can more accurately anticipate the upcoming pain as soon as I walk through the front door! 😈😅
