Melika Azizi, an 18-year-old Iranian protester, faces the death penalty after being arrested during nationwide anti-government demonstrations and accused of burning the Islamic Republic's flag.

Azizi was arrested on January 9, 2026, in Masal, Gilan province, northern Iran, before being transferred to Lakan Prison in Rasht.

She was accused of moharebeh, meaning “waging war against God.”

Azizi confronted the judge during her proceedings, declaring:

“You let so many young people bleed. How can I remain silent? I don't care. Just kill me.”

She was denied contact with her family and access to legal representation, while her relatives faced pressure from security authorities.

From inside the regime's prisons, 133 Iranian political prisoners and activists issued a statement of support for His Imperial Majesty Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi @officialrezapahlavi ahead of his engagement with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Germany. They designate him their political representative and voice before the international community, reject any solution that preserves religious rule, and demand the end of the Islamic Republic and a free, representative government.

Even under the shadow of the noose, the Iranian people inside the prisons are naming their preferred path: secular, constitutional restoration under the Crown Prince. The regime can hang bodies. It cannot hang that demand.

Today, the Islamic regime in Iran executed 21-year-old Alireza Raeisi.

Alireza was arrested over the January 2026 anti-government protests in Isfahan and prosecuted in the “Alikhani Square” case, connected to clashes in which four members of the security forces were killed.

Iranian authorities accused him of crimes including membership in an armed rebel group, “waging war against God” (moharebeh) and “corruption on Earth,” and sentenced him to death twice.

Human-rights organizations reported restricted access to effective legal representation, closed-door proceedings, ignored defense evidence and proof that statements were extracted under pressure.
Alireza was only 21 years old.

This morning, he was murdered at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan alongside 24-year-old Alireza Sepahi.

Two young men walked into that prison with entire lives that could have been ahead of them. Neither walked out.

Rest in peace, Alireza. 🦁🕊️

Today, the Islamic regime in Iran executed 24-year-old Alireza Sepahi.

Alireza was arrested over the January 2026 anti-government protests in Isfahan and accused of involvement in the deaths of four members of the security forces at Alikhani Square.

He was sentenced to death for charges including “waging war against God” (moharebeh) and “corruption on Earth,” despite his lawyers and human-rights groups saying evidence showed he was not at the scene when the killings took place and revealing that confessions were obtained under torture.

But behind the court files and accusations was a young man who was planning a life with the woman he loved.

While both were imprisoned, Alireza married his fiancée, 22-year-old Mahshad Kashani, who is herself serving a five-year prison sentence.

They became husband and wife just one day before Alireza was executed.

They were denied even one final meeting together as a married couple.

Today, Alireza was murdered at Isfahan’s Dastgerd Prison alongside another detained protester, Alireza Raeesi.

Mahshad must now mourn her husband from behind prison walls, one day after becoming his wife.

Alireza was 24 years old. He had a family, someone he loved, and an entire life that could have been ahead of him.

Rest in peace, Alireza. 🦁🕊️
