Used the sad music cuz I’m just missing ya 😩😭 the Fellows retreat was life changing. Being on the land, in ceremony, and just laughing together was so healing. The hope that you young ones gave me was such a gift. This was the embodiment of wahkohtowin. All of these lovely humans made this trip so special, and I’m very much missing them all. I’m so grateful we get to be a part of this @mastercardfoundation program together, and I’m counting down the days until I see you again. Kipatahotin.

$Kenya was beautiful 🧡 To the Maasai people: Your lands were beautiful, your winds were healing and your stories were so strong it brought out a passion in my soul. Knowing how both close but removed you are from your territories hurts my heart but being able to see your people persevere makes me hopeful for the future. I admire your infectious smiles and how you upheld them in the face of many layers of tragedies / oppression. You’re an inspirational people and I hope I can even bring a fractal of how you navigate your work into my own life/communities. To the Ogiek people: Your songs refilled my heart, your love for your honeys made me yearn for a deeper relationship with my territories and your forests made me feel held like a child. I hear you in your desire to have more clear solidarity with neechies around the world and I hope your flight continues to be heard and supported. Also shout out to your youth + aunties for holding shit down. Seeing the joy they had to have their hard work be witnessed by others literally made me cry lol. To my other neechies there: I will be forever grateful to know that regardless where we come from our peoples have a clear desire to spread love, to break down oppressive systems and to fill the room with laughter while doing it. I do think that there is a lot here for us to do - esp in the global north - in terms of ensuring we are building towards collective liberation and not just recreating colonial systems. We have some amazing opportunities to change not only our communities lives but change how the world is in relationship with one another. I hope we continue this to push together towards that future. To my homies (old and new): thank you for creating the space we did together. It’s crazy to think how the world will find ways to bring us together to allow us to grow, scheme and laugh with one another. You’re all so amazing and cannot wait for the next time we meet💜. Specific shout out to @jboldlygo, @thecircleonphilanthropy and @4rs_youth_movement for making this opportunity possible for us!$
