Part social history and part field study, this mighty work expands the literature on food anthropology in Egypt. Divided into Sea, Desert, River, Mountain and Cairo, it's an archive of recipes and stories from across Egypt, covering Alexandria, Damietta, Port Said, Marsa Matruh (Sea); Siwa, Fayoum, Dakhla (Desert); Kafr El Sheikh, Minya, Luxor, Aswan (River); Mount Sinai and Saint Catherine (Mountain).

Thank you @suzannezeidy and @rawahbadrawi for your colossal work.

The book was beautifully shot by @jonathangregsonphotography, published by @nourishbooks, with illustrations by @louisbarthelemy, and is available online.

Thank you @suzannezeidy, @rawahbadrawi and @divertimenti for such a delicious lunch (and the lowdown on great bars in Alexandria). I can’t wait to try and recreate the fuul, prawn kofta, tahini greens and street salad, as well as the amazing dishes in the book (hawawshi might be first up!).

The book tour continues, see you at @Gallery1957 in December, where I’ll have books and spice kits available to purchase. If you can’t wait until then head to the shop linked in Bio or drop me a DM. ✨
