Your brain + body are wired for the ocean, here’s why:

Spending time near water and in nature isn’t just relaxing—it literally rewires you for calm and focus. Studies show:

• Blue space therapy: Just 5 minutes by the ocean can lower cortisol (stress hormone) levels.

• Negative ions: Sea air is charged with ions that boost serotonin, improving mood and energy.

• Nature boosts cognition: Walking in natural spaces improves memory and creativity by up to 50%.

Your body heals, your mind resets, and your energy skyrockets—just by stepping outside.

The ocean does so much for us. So why not switch to natural fibre swimwear to give back to it and to give back to yourself?

99% of swimwear is plastic.
And once you realise that… you can’t un-feel it.

I searched everywhere for pure linen swimwear — and when I couldn’t find it, I created Tāraṇa Swim.

I’ve been wearing natural fibre swimwear for over a year now, and I genuinely can’t go back to “normal” bikinis. Plastic on my skin always felt wrong. Now? I feel free, grounded, and deeply in tune with nature.

The question I get asked the most:
“But doesn’t linen take forever to dry?”

The truth:
• A single-layer natural fibre bikini dries just as fast
• Sitting in a wet bikini for hours isn’t good for women anyway. I always bring two and change — Princess behaviour? —Maybe. Feeling incredible in my body? —Absolutely.

Research shows synthetic fibres can leach into our bodies through the skin and disrupt hormones. That’s why what we wear — especially on our most delicate areas — matters.

Slow fashion.
Natural fibres.
Swimwear that actually respects your body.

Most swimwear is synthetic.

We chose linen.

Your body deserves only the best.

Nylon, polyester, elastane—they look glossy, but they trap heat, irritate your skin, and shed microplastics that can disrupt hormones, affecting energy, mood, and overall wellbeing. True luxury is natural fibres that breathe with your body, feel soft, and respect you.

Take baby steps: Start with essentials—underwear, t-shirts, swimwear—and let your wardrobe reflect thoughtful, timeless choices.

If your “luxury” swimwear contains nylon, it’s not quiet luxury — it’s plastic.

Trust me, I know — it’s not easy to break up with all the plastic pieces in your wardrobe. I still have a couple things that are made out of nylon, polyester, elastane, and other plastic fabrics. For many years now, I have been slowly replacing my whole wardrobe and home with natural fibres and materials, one step at a time.

I remember when my husband first told me some years ago: “you know, the plastic fibres can actually absorb into your body through your skin” — I was shocked. That’s why I am not shocked at all when people don’t know this fact yet, and this is one of the main reasons Tāraṇa was born: to bring us back to what we are actually meant to wear on our skin, as nature intended.

Natural fibres — but make it high fashion, baby. 🪞

Nature—especially the ocean—is my therapy.
It heals me.
So giving back feels natural.
I choose natural fibres in the water, so I’m not shedding microplastics into the very place that gives me so much.

Join me on the journey as Tāraṇa Swim grows.
