What happens when the Census changes? Who gets counted and what’s at stake? We joined the @naturbanleague for an engaging conversation with policymakers and community data experts as we examine what potential Census changes could mean for Black communities. From political representation to federal funding, community investment, and evidence-based decision-making, Census data helps shape how resources and priorities are determined. Featuring: Meeta Anand, Senior Director, Census & Data Equity, Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights Dr. Jeanine Abrams McLean, President, @faircount , Inc. Dr. Ebony Baylor, Vice President of Policy & Civic Engagement, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation Moderated by: (@ray_shack ) Ray Shackelford, Vice President, Equitable Justice, National Urban League This roundtable broke down the risks, opportunities, and strategies communities need to know about and explored how accurate, inclusive data can help protect equitable representation and ensure Black communities remain visible in the decisions that affect their futures. #Census

Brothers, I need you for 5 minutes. National Black Men Voter Day is Saturday, October 24. Nobody’s going to show up for our communities if we don’t show up first. So here’s my ask: Commit to Vote. It’s 5 easy steps. 1⃣ Take the pledge. Say it out loud: “This Black Man Votes.” 2⃣ Lock it in. Sign up for Election Day alerts at blackmanvoterday.org/commit. It takes 30 seconds. 3⃣ Wear it. Add the #ThisBlackManVotes frame to your profile pic: https://www.twibbonize.com/national-black-men-voter-day 4⃣ Plan it. Check your registration, find your polling place, and decide how you’re voting. Early, mail, or Election Day. Just have a plan. 5⃣ Say it loud. Post it and tag 3 brothers to do the same. I’ll go first. This Black Man Votes. ✊🏾 Now I’m tagging 3 brothers I know will carry it forward: @dr.wesbellamy @dw__noarthur @ray_shack Your turn. A summer of love, endless laughs, pool days and nights, lots of live music (even at 2am thanks to @jayz), birthdays, learning more in my field, sitting in my mommy’s lap at this big age, and finally putting my eyes on my great-great grandfather’s legacy in Mississippi. 🥂
