Happy Birthday to my girl who’s been there through it ALL — deaths, weddings, pregnancies, happy tears, hard tears, and every memory in between. You’ve always had my back, given the best advice, and reminded me what true friendship looks like.

I’m wishing you a year of thriving, full of love, joy, and everything you pour into others finally coming back to you tenfold. I’m forever thankful for our bond (and that I’ll always be your “Heybur” 💕).

From teaching me the Save the Last Dance moves, to blasting the best songs, to cheering you on as Miss Black ISU (yasssss Queen)— we’ve made a lifetime of memories already, and I can’t wait for so many more.

My heart is so full. ❤️

To be celebrated by family, friends, and colleagues from so many different seasons of life yesterday as I was inducted into the Steve and Sandi Adams Student Affairs Hall of Fame at Illinois State University is an honor beyond words. To stand among a distinguished group of just 43 inductees, out of the thousands of alumni who have walked through ISU’s doors, is truly humbling.

Every message, every embrace, every word of encouragement reminded me just how blessed I am to be surrounded by such a powerful community. I am eternally grateful for the love, support, and inspiration you all continue to pour into me.

And while this moment is one I’ll cherish forever, there is still more to do. As I often remind others, I now remind myself: Go be great!

I’m asking for prayers for one of my best friends/brother Daryl @dkc2333 as he was involved in an accident on Saturday and is in critical condition fighting for his life 🙏🏼 We need all the prayers we can get right now for Daryl and his family.
