We’ve been celebrating the people making London a better place through our annual Heroes campaign since 2017, but this is the list we feel most passionate about. Throughout October, we’ll be showcasing their stories and shouting about all the incredible things they do. I ♥️ (Mamdani’s) NY Climate Week/ UNGA for the 4th year in a row. Hosted a cute dinner with my dream girls @notpeterthiel_ @rayhopkinson. Moderated a lunch about the impacts of AI on our information environment with our UN friends (and they let me into HQ again, which is always a thrill). Saw my beloved NY humans and animals. Walked about 1m steps. Merci for photos from @lameyachaudhury & @lucyvonsturmer ♥️

Londoners, listen up 🐑 My wonderful friend @nicci.james is hosting a special evening for London Textile Month at @cockpitstudios in Deptford Thursday night, including a screening of her short film The Value of British Wool. The evening will offer a beautiful insight into Nicci’s practice: why working with native British wool matters, the unique qualities of each breed and the fascinating journey from fleece to yarn. I’ll be there too and, as if I needed another reason to share it, I also had the pleasure of shooting these photographs for her. If you’re interested in design, sustainability, craftsmanship or simply curious to understand more about the materials we live with, this is for you. Tickets are very affordable, but they’re sure to go quickly, so come and join us, go on her profile to book via the link. PR by my brilliant studio mate @rayhopkinson @swayedstudiopr 🤍

Did you know, Lush have been ahead of the curve in standing up to Meta? They logged off Meta platforms in 2021 after Frances Haugen’s whistleblowing report revealed the company knew its products were harming children. 5 years on, the company has remained a champion of our digital rights and mental wellbeing, and Meta has been forced to pay up £17 billion in its latest lawsuit. That’s why I’m super excited to have @loggingoffclub be part of the lineup of this year’s LushFest, where we’ll help you slow down, unwind and reconnect with your body and mind through a sensory and collective workshop. Expect speed-dating icebreakers, guided journaling, a tech-neck fix massage and intention setting with a hot drink from Lush cafe 📴 Saturday 5th September, Oxford St 📍 Saturday 12th September, Liverpool 📍 Saturday 19th September, Glasgow 📍 Saturday 5th September, Oxford St 📍 Get your tickets now on the Lush App 🛁

I think I’ll always be most interested in people in the places that belong to them. Their homes, their rituals, the things they make and the way they move through them. A little observation, a little intrusion, a little intimacy even — and of course always on film. These portraits are taken for @swayedstudiopr @hyperfloral 🌱🏠
