It’s hard to appreciate what you have when you’re to focused on where you’re headed. Every now and then, it’s good to slow down and look around.

Had a great conversation with Bold Journey Magazine about acting, life, and the road that’s brought me here.

Grateful for the road behind me, the people beside me, and whatever’s waiting up ahead.

Still figuring it out. Still having fun.

Thanks for having me, y’all.

Just wanted to share an update about the custom set we're designing for the workshop on September 20th. We're creating a dive bar at the conference so everyone can see what you can do with a little space and a lot of imagination on a small budget.

I recently got asked to interview with @voyagedallas . Here are some photos I submitted, and some of me working. Below are some snippets

".... After graduating by the skin of my teeth in 2017, I really had no idea where or how I should go about making anything. I didn’t have a job lined up while $200,000 worth of debt loomed. I came back to Dallas and slowly got to work doing interstitial segments on local public broadcast stations....

.... Previously, queer and trans friends had led me through group sharing circles, racial reckonings in the 2020’s really taught me to value myself, I learned more language for my experiences, I did celibacy and sobriety for stints — these were all helpful. But a concerted and trauma informed practice was something else. Shout out to my corporate boss at the time, a bullish and loving man, for encouraging me to get into therapy. Shout out to the women in my life who listened and sent me a therapist’s email, too.

What I really discovered was that I struggled with living in the past, and some sense of self worth. In an effort to keep creating, it was then that I turned more heavily into photography. On the one hand, especially since it’s so temporal, it takes so much less emotional investment and review than a full filmic project! On the other hand, for as long as I’ve been creative, I’ve done my best to never get paid to take a photo. Somehow, that helps the process feel more sacred.... "

Wanna know how to be valuable on a set? Become a problem solver.

The kind of people I want on set are the kind that find solutions.

No matter how well you plan any shoot, you will ALWAYS run into problems. A location will burn you, the weather will screw you, or you’ll run out of fruit snacks. You need people on your team that don’t blink in the face of adversity. People that think creatively about fixing issues.

When a giant 4k light nearly blew up on the set of my short film, RIDIN DIRTY, we didn’t panic, we pivoted to using mirrors and the power of the sun.

The become a great problem solver, you have to get on more sets. And do it over and over and over…

This year, I set an intention to bridge the gap between my performance theatre practice and the distinct language of on-screen acting. To find myself cast as the lead in three unique Texas-based indie films feels like the true fruition of that goal.

If you asked me post-pandemic, I honestly wasn’t sure if I would ever return to acting. After six years of nonstop training / generating work for my art practice, I had nearly closed that chapter entirely. But life—and the work—had other plans.

I’ve never felt more aligned with my path than I do right now. I’m deeply grateful to these talented groups of creatives for trusting me to inhabit these characters and for the space to build something so meaningful together. Each of these projects have been masterclasses in world-building and the collaborative art of storytelling.

I’m ready for everything 2027 has to offer.
