During the post-screening conversation for O'Sey Balamma, The First Bite, and Flowers Bloom When Touched, Rajdip Ray (@rayofdope), director and producer of The First Bite, reflected on the deeply personal experiences that inspired the film and the realization that, sometimes, there is nothing to do but show up and stay present. Dedicated to his friend and grandmother, the film is rooted in the quiet moments that often matter most, and in the power of simply being there for one another. Moderated by Jyoti Menon (@jyoti823), Board Member of the Indo-American Arts Council, at the New York Indian Film Festival 2026. #NYIFF2026 #TheFirstBite #RajdipRay #IndianCinema #ShortFilms #IndependentCinema
