Are you up for a post-Christmas challenge? 😅

Back in January 2022, I took on the #ConnetixChallenge by @davisle2010 to build an Icosahedron and figured out the technique. Fast forward nearly three years, and I realized I had completely forgotten how! So, I gave it another shot, and let me tell you—after nearly three hours (with plenty of breaks!)—I almost gave up.

Here are some key tips for building this tricky structure:

1. Use 20 small Equilateral Triangles.
2. Each side should consist of 5 triangles.
3. Ensure the sides are not flat.
4. The middle points should always be pointed outward.
5. Keep one triangle as the base while building.

Would you try this challenge? Tag me and use the hashtag #BuildAnIcosahedronWithConnetix—I’d love to see your creations! Let’s help each other out—you might even discover a tip or two to make it easier!

It seems like all the Christmas posts are sneaking their way into IG, from people making Christmas flowers, to challenges that have Christmas related prompts & people even putting up their trees! (Looking at you @rayrays_play)

So I’ve relaxed my ‘can’t post anything Christmassy until December’ attitude & allowed Clive & Ron to put up their tree

When @rayrays_play summons you to continue the ‘one set only’ ball run challenge using the @grimmswoodentoys basic building sets, you jump off the sofa and get to work!

I do love these 2 sets, they are bright, fun, have a great range of shapes and we’ve used them for some pretty cool builds. Never thought to use them for marble runs, might have to have a go at combining the 2 sets into a giant run!
