POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Our final photo post from August! A one person Harold from @missmonikasmith, an incredible @partycrashersshow monoscene with a guest appearance from @triplehomimprov. JTS Brown from @dreamwaveimprov and @alanstarzinski fielding some absolute killers. This is everything we love about improv, folks, and the one thing that makes it possible is you. Everybody knows we get the best crowds in LA, which is why so many performers are willing to grace our little backyard with their enormous talent. Huge thanks to all you Fanciers out there and to @hannahkphotograph for capturing these incredible moments. We’re gonna do it again in less than 24 hours, so we hope to see you there!

The craziest show I’ve ever been in - this one will always hold an extra special place in my heart. I got to play a 500-year old vampire (insane!) and work up close with artists I’ve admired from afar that I can now call friends (4L okay!!!!). I was challenged in ways I didn’t expect. I dealt with the heaviest blow imaginable and learned how to tread water when I wanted to drown.

My mom used to always come to the first preview and the final performance of my shows, no matter how passionately I would beg her to come to opening night instead. She came to opening of this one before she passed away. I will always remember hearing her laughter from that night.

I am forever indebted to all of the people I met throughout this process that uplifted me when I really didn’t know if I would make it to see another day. Thank you to Devon & Kevin (dream team!!) for trusting me with Val. I loved playing her.

Thank you to all of the friends and family that came out to see this. I love doing theatre. I loved this show so much and miss it and everyone I had the absolute fortune to work with on it. Thank you thank you thank you to everyone for everything forever❤️

What is your favorite memory from taking an in person workshop??

Anytime we come together, we get to further the art form. When we come together, we grow. When we teach, we learn new lessons. When we are bold enough to come learn with others, we cannot measure the joy of doing something that matters to you.

Our year of in person learning has come to a close. Three cities. Over 60 learners. Every single member of our core staff taught in person. Over 60 coverage garments used. Unmeasured amount of tape. Around 6 lightly inflated Pilates balls.

The best part of in person workshops is that we get to see each other too!! Did you know that we operate Intimacy Professionals Education Collective from 6 different cities? Traveling to you is one of our big priorities!

It’s joyful to come together and practice. Let’s do this.

Been a while since our last Toolbox Thursday. In honor of our recent Accessibility Lab with Chels Morgan and Rachel Flesher, today we get to ask ourselves, how do we provide care when we learn of an access need? What is our scope of practice?

How have you taken a look recently about your own needs & access to do your best work?

Next lab is IN PERSON in Chicago. Sign ups for Los Angeles in July go up soon! June labs are about gender and an 8 hour choreography lab, and we will be hiring actors!

Come play in the sandbox!

The shows are great, obviously, but for me it’s all about the people.
