After 2 years of writing, 1 year of filming, and 1 year of editing, I can now proudly say that our movie @whataretheyfilm is officially complete and locked in.

This movie has been through 2 short film productions, 1 writer’s strike, 1 actor’s strike, 1 presidency change, MANY social and political shake ups, MANY personal life changes, and MANY other unexpected circumstances. However, our story always stayed consistent and important to the story I wanted to tell since 2022 which is something I will finally be able to share very soon.

I am beyond grateful to everyone who has had a hand in the making of this movie, every single person put so much effort and energy into this and it shows. I know this production was not easy for everyone but I’m happy to say we all made it through and put something cool together as a result.

In honour of the new season FINALLY being out, here’s some shots of me in 2024 with the gentlemen of The Gentlemen…the funniest thing about this was that someone mistook me for Kaya despite the fact that I hadn’t yet cut bangs! & i had a flight that day! lol. Two years ago, I visited Brasil to say goodbye to my maternal grandmother and, in that time, I spent an amazing few days with my paternal grandmother. It was time I’d never had with her and those irreplaceable moments strengthened our relationship like none other. This lovely woman passed away on Monday…she was incredibly loved by any and all who indulged in her presence. She taught me and my family invaluable lessons about perseverance, love, and forgiveness. I’m super thankful to have known her and am inconsolably saddened by her departure. I’m reminded of the phrase “heaven’s got a new angel” and have never been more confident in its truth. RIP Alair Barbosa Gomes, you are already seriously missed. ❤️
