It’s crazy to think that it’s already been one year since our season of @masterchefcda premiered. This was such a surreal time in my life: I was literally living and seeing my dream play out right in front of me.

The incredible love and support that I received from absolutely everyone was truly mind blowing, something I never could have imagined. The watch parties, the press days, the collabs, and not to mention, all the laughs and excitement. It was all truly special, and I will without a doubt cherish these moments for the rest of my life.

My experience on Masterchef Canada was truly unique. On one hand, it was the most challenging thing I have ever set out to do. You go through the wringer: the amount of energy that is required of you is indescribable and quite honestly, inconceivable. Yet, I also had THE TIME OF MY LIFE. I made lifelong friends, laughed non stop, learned so many new things, and proved to myself that sometimes the craziest things CAN actually come true.

Today we pass the torch to a new set of competitors, and although it’s bittersweet to see things come and go, I’m beyond excited to see what happens in this next chapter. Knowing what I know now, I can only imagine the sheer excitement the new group must be feeling today.

So cheers to all the memories, all the Instagram posts, all the new skills and knowledge, the life changing opportunities, friendships, love, and gratefulness. Cheers to all my season 8 homies that made this experience a blast, and cheers to season 9 and all the amazing home cooks that are about to embark on this wild ride! Have the best time, soak it in, celebrate each other, and just appreciate this awesome time in your life! 🥂 🍻

Photo dump after two weeks in New Brunswick.

Worked more than I planned! Saw fewer people than I hoped. Still had an incredible trip.

Time with Mom, Dad and my sister. River sunsets. Cousins night. Countless oysters. A brief return to my duties as Bosun.

I revisited places I hadn’t thought about in years, spent time on the water, and by the end of the trip my accent was strong enough that I could’ve been directing traffic at the Legion after meat bingo.

Good for the soul. Good to be home.

Some of my favorite memories last year were when we were just chilling together and exploring Toronto, eating copious amounts of delicious Thai food. After getting eliminated, this was the perfect therapy: good friends, great food, and chill times.

Also, @raystx trying his first filet-o-fish is still one of my favorite moments 😂
