Sure, it’s September and Labor Day is around the corner and the days may not be as hot and sunny as they were a few weeks ago, but this is your reminder that summer isn’t over quite yet. Let’s enjoy every second.

What keeps this place alive are the people who show up — early, tired, day after day, season after season. The real Cape Cod has never been about ancestry or accent, beach vacations or fried clams. It’s about the wires and the workers, the ebbs and the flows. It’s about managing the mess and, Spring after Spring, slapping a fresh new coat of white paint over it…

@rcand of @thecanteenptown and photographer @brian_kaplan explores a Cape Cod often overlooked.

The debate surrounding Noma has moved far beyond a single restaurant.

In recent weeks the conversation has expanded to questions the restaurant industry rarely confronts openly: labour culture, unpaid stages, leadership, media influence and the systems that reward excellence while rarely examining the conditions behind it.

Our latest essay looks at the Noma crisis from several angles — including chefs, journalists and industry observers — revealing a far more complex picture than the simple choice between outrage and defence.

Rather than asking who should win the argument, the piece examines the structures that shape modern fine dining and the pressures placed on the people who sustain it.

What does the Noma crisis reveal about the price the industry is willing to pay for excellence?

What a weeked! The first annual Provincetown Harborfest is in the books! Our local shellfish farmers shucked over 4,000 Provincetown oysters, serving over 700 guests throughout the day. It was such a fun way to celebrate our town's resurgent shellfish industry -- and we hope this is just the first of its kind.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored the event, everyone who helped make it happen and everyone who showed up to slurp along with us!

Provincetown EDC, @mermaidmenu, @Cape_Tip_Seafoods, @gmcchewy, @milkeythomas, @sutterpenelope, @lindaop56, @artemismoore1, @donaldchute1952, @daleg603 and team, @katiedoofoh, @thor_sculpts, @sandy_bottom_oysters, Meredith Labour, Todd and Tim from Sandy Bottom, Alex Brown, the OG oyster farmer in town, Laurie Delmolino of J’oysters, Bob Hazard, @lldowneast_ , @buyfreshbuylocalcapecod , + so many others. It truely took a village!
