Feeling grateful for positive self-talk and box breathing... over the weekend, I passed my CMPC exam! 🎉

Earning the Certified Mental Performance Consultant credential through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology signifies a consultant's competency for implementing the mental skills training necessary for peak performance among athletes and performers.

For those who are not familiar with the CMPC, it is the only nationally accredited mental performance credential in North America and requires 400 hours of consultation, observation, and supervision, as well as a plethora of holistic coursework, exam preparation, and in my experience, self-reflection. When you see someone with the credential or post that they just earned it, know that this was no small feat!

Many thank you's are in order, as always! I first felt inspired to pursue this credential after learning about sport psychology from my professors and advisors (Bobby Hilliard, Ph.D., CMPC and Jessica Peacock, Ph.D., CMPC) while an undergrad student at Shenandoah University. Then, I was able to begin my supervised hours in 2023 during my master's program at the University of Kentucky under Marc Cormier, Ph.D., CMPC and Ashley Samson, Ph.D., CMPC. I completed my requirements during the beginning of my Ph.D. program at the University of North Texas under Dr. Trent Petrie.

Thank you to the organizations that provided the learning environment to make this milestone possible, as well as the many professionals who supported me and encouraged me while preparing for the exam! It takes a village! 💚
