If you only do one thing over the coming weeks, be sure to make time to check out our fantastic Camellia sasanqua collection. A number of them are thought to be planted over 100 years ago and two of them are unique to @leonardsleegardens in the UK. And to cap it all, they smell amazing!

I am even spending my weekends at Rosemoor!! Visiting the latter half of the SW Rhododendron, Camellia and Magnolia Group’s autumn meeting which concluded with a talk from Jack Aldridge on a second golden age for woody plants. Plenty of horticultural rabbit holes to explore!

Also a very lovely day for a blue skied walk mesmerised by the changing autumnal landscapes. 🍂🏞️🌿

Morning with me on #mycommute is our Rhododendron ‘Cornish Red’. It took a bit of a battering in Jan during storm Goretti but has bounced back and has started flowering now it’s spring time…. Hang on it’s still October! It always flowers early but that is usually late Dec early January!

Morning with me on #mycommuteis our “champion” Camellia sasanqua‘Narumigata’ towering over the wall of the walled garden. Camellia season is in full swing and we will have flowers all through autumn, winter, spring into early summer next year! This is why EVERY garden should have a Camellia, ideally a collection of at least several hundred…….
