“This one’s mine, and that one’s yours.” 💜🐝🌸

We love an art show. After the last @art_association_jh @thecenterjh art show, @rdkartwork and I went shopping together and found the cutest new @cotopaxi bags… a tan purse for her and a purple fanny for me. Then, obvi, we went back to HQ to Patch Dazzle them together. ✨

Queen Bee for me, a flower-covered pika for Rachel…and outside to dance. Because life, and your accessories… should be this much fun.

We love the arts! 🎨 This week, make sure to get out and visit the galleries celebrating @jhchamber Fall Arts Week. Support the artists, explore something new, and maybe even dance in the streets. 💃✨

Wait until you see the reveal! Our new Fall tour poster is here. These gorgeous works of art will be available at our shows this fall.

Kudos to designer @rdkartwork for her work that combines so many elements of our music, nature, and our favorite birds, and to the printing work of Zak @fourfingerpress .

(We loved the art so much, we also rolled the design out to two styles of bandanas for the first time ever.)

This week, we are spotlighting one of our amazing vendors! Rachel Kozlowski, owner of RKArtwork, is a full-time artist based in Salt Lake City. Originally from Delaware, she has fond memories of visiting national parks. “We don’t have many national parks, but I have childhood memories of going to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Grand Canyon,” she said.

Rachel studied fine arts and printmaking at the University of Delaware. Now, she runs her business entirely alone, which she has owned for 10 years. “It’s amazing to be able to be a full-time artist. Much of my work is nature and wildlife centered,” she said. “I get to create work that people resonate with.”

She crafts what she calls “functional items that have a connection to nature,” including zippered pouches with wildlife themes, bandanas, stickers, glassware, camp mugs, tea towels and more.

A few years ago, she met Grand Teton Association’s Retail Director, Erin, at a holiday market at the Utah Fine Arts Museum and began her partnership with GTA then. “Erin has been incredibly encouraging. It’s been much more than a vendor-buyer relationship,” she said. “It’s been really wonderful working with GTA. I don’t feel like you see that everywhere.”

Since then, she created a custom bandana for Grand Teton National Park featuring mountains and wildlife. “Grand Teton was the first park I have worked with in this capacity,” she said. “When you come to a place that is this special, I really wanted to make a product that reflects what this place is: the landscapes, the species, so that you have a keepsake that reminds you of when you were driving through the region having that one wildlife experience.”

She handles the vending, mailing, marketing, screenprinting, sewing, administrative tasks, business development, merchandising, packaging and processes online and wholesale orders.

“We live in a society that encourages more and more growth,” she said. "For me, it’s hard to say what I want my business to look like in five or 10 years. I hope to have a job where I can still go to these parks and connect back to what my work has been inspired by."

The trail is officially 7.3, but add in our wanderings and this tough ol' happy sprite did 8 miles... at elevation! And Nubi did great too - LOL. (Truly though, I felt like the limiting factor on this hike.)

Sweeping views and snow patched mountain tops, meadow single track and pine lined switchbacks lined with flowers, perfectly perched pika and magnificent marmots, elk plus babies galore (an unexpected surprise appearance from behind a hill), waterfalls and creek crossings, and an alpine lake with foot long trout you could practically handpick out of the water - this hike had it all.

We saw two other people on trail - they were set up with a camp down by the lake but were day-hiking out to explore a nearby area for the day.

Aside from the trout, we had the lake to ourselves. Cloud reflections traveled across the water - sometimes they caused the lake to ripple, sometimes they were nothing more than glassy ghosts passing through.

After significant lake oogling and digestion of lunch, we began the climb out of the crater that cradled the lake. The wind began to blow as had been forecasted for mid day and through the wee hours of the next morning.

When it comes to souvenirs, I always look for something practical—something I can wear, use, and enjoy long after the trip is over.

After searching across two national parks, we have finally found the perfect keepsake at the Jenny Lake Visitor Center! A gorgeous ,gorgeous bandanas designed by @rdkartwork ! ✨

It is hand-printed in stunning turquoise and deep green, and features the native wildlife and landscapes of Grand Teton National Park🐻🦅🦬🫎

As an animal lover, I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more meaningful souvenir!❤️

NoSo is the future. Duh. ✨

Using old patch bar content because honestly… we’ve been doing this for OVER 10 YEARS now. 😂

Before “bag charms.”
Before customization became a trend.
Before people realized they wanted their stuff to actually feel personal.

Meanwhile we were over here:
🧵 patch bars - you’re welcome ☺️
✨ dopamine dressing… umm loveity love love
♻️ repair culture - yep that’s us too
💘 making gear less boring ~ hieeeeEEE winkee poo

At this point… I am my inspiration 🫶 @lizzobeeating

The future is patched. We just got there first. Meow kitty’s.

You should probably follow us. We’re basically the bees knees. 🐝 🍸
