Movement in May was probably one of my favourite seasons (so far).

This month really proved to me that movement comes in all different types of ways, it’s not just running or walking, and it looks different for everyone. But movement together, is movement more enjoyed.

So here some magical moments from my May, which were super memorable to me.

1. Running and walking around every street and suburb in Singapore, with days filled with local delicacies. Running in Singapore was challenging given the heat and humidity, but as a runner it’s all part of the long term training. I also snuck in two classes at @barryssingapore , because nothing beats the red room. Kms ran in May: 354km
2. Spicy Shoelace Club: this month we had three events and I find so much joy in encouraging people to come together and move their bodies. Moving your body, especially in new, expressive, or public ways requires a deep level of trust and vulnerability, and I’m so grateful to have created a little club that allows people of all ages in life to feel comfortable and safe to do so. Getting messages post our events saying “we didn’t have any motivation to come, but after our walk/run I felt so good”. This makes me the HAPPIEST.
3. Tuesday mornings with the @miscproduct crew is truly some of the best mornings anyone could experience, and you have to be there to feel the energy.
4. COMMUNITY: Joined a crazy triple threat challenge that @southaucklandrunclub was hosting, and BOY, the daily challenges were INSANE, but THE BEAUTIFUL COMMUNITY that I got to meet and get inspired by. UNREAL, on days when I thought a 24km run was enough, people are pulling through with 40-50km runs.
5. Wings for Life: I am just SO HAPPY I got to participate in such a prestigious event with the community of Auckland. What a beautiful event the @redbullnz team had put on.
6. I wasn’t as consistent as the gym, but I got in some really key sessions this month, and also got to experience some great classes at @lesmillsnewlynn

On Mother’s Day, @re.activ8 and @spicyshoelace.club got together and hosted a morning of mindful movement to celebrate our mums.

But this wasn’t just a Mother’s Day celebration, it was a celebration of the beauty of movement, and how movement can look a lot more than your traditional sports.

Angad led the morning with various different mobility movements, movements to help activate and warm up different areas of our body, catered for all ages, some fun games followed by a beautiful walk around the park.

Thank you to everyone who came to our first collaboration, we hope to keep encouraging people of all ages to come move their bodies, because together we can go far together.
