Congratulations to RE/PAIR for an amazing Toronto Film Festival World Premiere!

In an increasingly divided world, Re/Pair brings together 19 pairs of Black and Jewish thinkers, some longtime collaborators, others meeting for the first time, to engage in wide-ranging, unguarded conversations about their families, communities, shared histories, and points of difference. As ideas, fears, and personal stories surface, the film reveals what can happen when we make space to listen, connect, and keep the conversation going.

Directed by Lacey Schwartz Delgado, Re/Pair is an excellent exploration of the history and relationship between black and jewish communities in America. Catch Re/Pair at Woodstock Film Festival 2026!

Premiere day at TIFF, behind the scenes in black and white, by Mathieu Bitton.

RE/PAIR premiered this week, and I am so proud to be part of this timely documentary. One year ago, Lacey Schwartz Delgado paired Black and Jewish thinkers to speak about family, faith, grievance, and the long history that binds and divides our two communities. To offer my own story alongside theirs, as a Black woman who chose Judaism, was the most exposed I have ever allowed myself to be on camera. Honesty was the price of admission for those of us on screen. The film asks its audience to pay in kind.

Vote for RE/PAIR for the People’s Choice Documentary Award, and help this conversation reach the people who need it most.
