Got a bad habit of giving myself too many choices for a monthly tbr and then getting derailed by side quests but imma still set some books aside because I like it okay?

I’m already halfway through Voice Like a Hyacinth, buddying with @reading.with.t and going swimmingly. And I just started Prairie Edge which is highly anticipated with @rainysundaybooks because she’s familiar with the setting so that’s going to be especially fun. And I’m excited to get in some new Shirley Jackson with my girl @mylifein.books! Otherwise the choices are scattered but I’m craving something truly off the rails so hopefully something here satisfies that (looking at you, Little Rot).

Have you read any of these? What are you prioritizing in May?

📚TBR Tuesday📚

2026 is the year I prioritize my physical tbr to the best of my ability!
I own 342 beautiful books and have read 226 of them, 5 since January. That leaves me with 116 unread and I'm hoping to knock that number well below 100.

So far of the 5 read this year, These Hollow Vows and it's sequel were unhauled and the other 4 were great!
Thank you to @reading.with.t for buddy reading our way through some of our tbr together 🥰

📚Have you read any of these? How's your physical tbr doing? 😅

☀️"Mische Iliae would be remembered by the bones of time itself, and I knew it because I would write her story there with my blood if I had to."☀️

This was a fantastic end to Mische and Asar's story! As with each of the duologies in this series, I loved seeing our old characters return and new ones get introduced.

This book definitely made me laugh, cry, and much more! I loved Mische's growth from her religious trauma and how that came about with more involvement from the Gods. Mische has been such a strong character throughout the series and her relationship with Asar was such a beautiful thing for 2 people struggling with love and acceptance.

This overarching story has been amazing to read through and I have been so glad to read the whole thing with @reading.with.t ! We are pretty good at reading entire series together and this is one we don't want to end!

If you haven't read this series yet and are planning to or have but haven't read the novellas I have to tell you they are necessary! The novellas give beautiful and important insight into side characters that you will love! My favorite book in this whole series so far is still Six Scorched Roses!

✨2025 Memories✨

Throwback thursday of some of my favorite posts and memories from last year!
Not only did I attend my first big book convention, but I also got to meet some of my amazing friends and authors that I've been talking to for years because of it! I also got to meet another author friend and more bookish friends closer to home which was such a wonderful surprise for me!

I also beta read a lot for my favorite ladies and am so grateful to continue to do so as they start new series and continue old favorites! Thanks to @reading.with.t for being my buddy reading constant last year and for the past few with more to come!

Last year wasn't great for me mental health wise but looking back I have so much to be thankful for and will continue to look back at those things and smile 💚

Thank you so much for everyone that was a part of my 2025 and here to share 2026 with me!! 🎉

📚 Maybe Next Year📚

Hey Friends! I hope you all had a great holiday week! I definitely tried to spend mine relaxing and enjoying family time.

@evitaveda tagged me in sharing some books I've been meaning to get to from my tbr but haven't so maybe I will next year! Some are from this year and sadly some aren't 😅

📖Bury Our Bones in The Midnight Soil
This one intruiged me right away and I bought it shortly after release but just never got around to it. I kept telling myself I would so maybe next year?

📖Trial of The Sun Queen
I originally kept putting it off because I was waiting for the rest of the series but now the whole thing is out and I own them all sooooo I should really get to it!

📖A Tempest of Tea
I started this one this year and honestly just got a little bored and had other things I wanted/needed to read so I put it down to pick back up and didn't. I definitely still want to and the sequel is out now so probably next year!

📖That Time I Got Drunk and Saved A Demon
I bought this book randomly one day and have been so interested to read it but keep waiting for someone to read it with or for the mood to pull me and I haven't yet. But this is definitely next year because I've heard such good things!

📖Enchantra
I absolutely loved Phantasma so I was very excited for this one to release! Then I heard some mixed things and didn't pick it up but I've seen the author teasing the rest of the series and how she's going to do it so I'm back to looking forward to it!

✨Have you read any of these or are they on your tbr too? Do you think I should priotize any of them?

This was a fun one, so I've tagged some people but definitely join in if you want to!

🌙PHASES OF THE MOON🌙

It’s time for the final book stack challenge of 2025. I’ve been terrible at keeping up with challenges so I’ll have to catch up next year. This one was too fun and easy to avoid any longer tough. Thanks for the tag @ultra_olly

🌙New Moon - A Book From Your TBR:
A Rather Vengeful Accord - very curious about this read. Hoping to get around to it very soon.

🌙Waxing Crescent - A Current Read or Ongoing Series:
Sir Callie and the Witch’s War - I’ve been working my way through this fun middle grade series and I’m hoping to pick up this one and the final book in 2026.

🌙First Quarter Moon - A Book That Challenged or Changed You:
Loveless - I learned so much from this book. Truly an eye-opening experience.

🌙Full Moon - An All-Time Favorite:
The Name of the Wind - I love this book so much. Sad that it will probably never be a completed series.

🌙Waxing Gibbous - A Book You Didn’t Enjoy:
The Crown of Gilded Bones - ugh. I despise this book and this series. Why do I still have it?

🌙Dark Moon - A Dark or Emotional Read:
Here We Go Again - this one took me on such an emotional journey. A super sweet and sad story.

I’ve tagged some friends to give this a try but as always, no pressure. If you see this and feel inspired, go forth!

✨MAYBE NEXT YEAR✨

Every year I make a list of books I didn’t get around to this year with the hope that I might pick them up in the new year (for 2025 I actually made my list in January cause I didn’t have time in 2024). I do notice some repeat offenders here so let’s get into it 😅

Maybe next year I’ll read:

✨The Ashfire King - the sequel to The Stardust Thief (which I loved). I decided to put it on hold until closer to the book 3 release date. Not sure when that is yet, but maybe next year?

✨The Shadow of What Was Lost - was this on my list last year as well? It sure was! I don’t know why I keep putting it off. All my shiny new books are distracting me!

✨The River of Silver - another one from last year’s list. I keep saying I’m gonna reread The Daevabad trilogy and THEN pick up this one (you know, for maximum enjoyment) but I never prioritise those rereads. Again too many shiny new books!

✨The Hidden Girl - waiting for the historical fiction mood to hit me with this one. It does seem interesting though, so it will happen someday!

What’s on your maybe next year list?

I’ve tagged a few friends to give it a go but, as always, no pressure. If you see this and feel inspired, go forth!

Also, my Christmas break starts after today and I’m so goddamn ready!!
