تدور أحداث الرواية في أجواء مشحونة بالغموض المعاصر، حيث يطارد الماضي المظلم حياة طبيبة جراحة ناجحة ومستقرة للغاية.
تتركز القصة حول الشابة نورا ديفيس، التي تخفي سرا دمويا مروعا عن الجميع؛ فوالدها الحقيقي هو سفاح متسلسل. تنقلب حياتها الهادئة والعزلة التي فرضتها على نفسها فجأة، عندما تُقتل إحدى مريضاتها بطريقة مطابقة تماما لأسلوب والدها.
يتصاعد التوتر النفسي بشدة حين تتكرر هذه الجرائم الوحشية، وتدرك نورا أن شخصا مجهولا يسعى لتوريطها كبديل. تضطر البطلة لخوض صراع مرعب لإثبات براءتها المطلقة، ممزقة بين إخفاء هويتها وتجنب تحقيقات الشرطة المستمرة حولها.
يختتم هذا العمل بتقديم إثارة نفسية وبوليسية محكمة للغاية، تبرز صراع النجاة الشرس والهروب من خطايا الآباء المروعة.

Book Tour Review

Coffin Moon by Keith Rosson
4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A story that is as dark and creepy as the front cover suggests. Coffin Moon is a vampire tale, but one that is different to anything I have read before.

The writing is rich. I felt as though I was right there with the protagonist, Duane. I could almost see, hear and feel what was going on in his pub.

The pace is slow. It's not a horrifying, gruesome read. Instead it's a dark and mysterious horror novel. One that reels you in as events slowly unfold.

A really atmospheric read with superbly interesting characters.

📚 Heart of Glass

This was my fourth book by Jennifer Hillier, and her books are always solid reads for me. What I didn’t realize when I started Heart of Glass was that there’s a previous book, Wonderland. This one definitely works as a standalone, but there were characters and references from the previous book. Now I need to read Wonderland.

The atmosphere was one of my favorite parts—a spooky, creepy amusement park in a small town reopening years after a murder? YES PLEASE. 🎡🔪

And there was A LOT going on in this one: serial killers, missing women, someone wrongfully accused, memories that may not be quite right, old friendships rekindled, reality TV stars, and plenty of secrets from the past.

I also really enjoyed the dual timeline, jumping between 25 years ago and present day. It was handled really well and slowly filled in the pieces of what actually happened all those years ago.

There were plenty of twists along the way. A few were a little predictable for me, and at times the book read slightly YA-ish, but neither kept me from enjoying it. The ending felt a little rushed and somewhat unbelievable, but it was still satisfying.

Overall, another solid thriller from Jennifer Hillier with a fantastic creepy setting, lots of moving parts, and a past that refuses to stay buried. Can’t wait to see what she writes next! 👏📚
