✨MAYBE NEXT YEAR✨

Every year I make a list of books I didn’t get around to this year with the hope that I might pick them up in the new year (for 2025 I actually made my list in January cause I didn’t have time in 2024). I do notice some repeat offenders here so let’s get into it 😅

Maybe next year I’ll read:

✨The Ashfire King - the sequel to The Stardust Thief (which I loved). I decided to put it on hold until closer to the book 3 release date. Not sure when that is yet, but maybe next year?

✨The Shadow of What Was Lost - was this on my list last year as well? It sure was! I don’t know why I keep putting it off. All my shiny new books are distracting me!

✨The River of Silver - another one from last year’s list. I keep saying I’m gonna reread The Daevabad trilogy and THEN pick up this one (you know, for maximum enjoyment) but I never prioritise those rereads. Again too many shiny new books!

✨The Hidden Girl - waiting for the historical fiction mood to hit me with this one. It does seem interesting though, so it will happen someday!

What’s on your maybe next year list?

I’ve tagged a few friends to give it a go but, as always, no pressure. If you see this and feel inspired, go forth!

Also, my Christmas break starts after today and I’m so goddamn ready!!

Q: What guilty pleasure read do u have?

~

Thank u @elliott.roi.reads for tagging me in this. It looked hella fun and u gave me the excuse to make my own 😂
Even if i am a little late.

Anyone and everyone feel tagged too! I love seeing those ♡

~

𝙇𝙪𝙨𝙩 (a book i bought for the cover): The Story of King Arthur and the Knights;
i always wanted to explore the OG stories of King Arthur especially given my love for the BBC Merlin series but i gotta admin, the cover made me finally buy it (and no i didnt read it, still. It's been 4 years..).

𝙂𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙮 (a book i could reread over and over): Moonstruck;
i may just read it twice as of now BUT the immense urge to reread it is present constantly.

𝙀𝙣𝙫𝙮 (a book i want to live in): A Taste of Gold and Iron;
queernormative & ottoman inspired - hell ya.

𝙒𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙝 (a book i didn't enjoy): Case File Compendium Vol. 1;
i enjoyed hating it but other than that...it's really impressive to get me to hate a danmei, i ain't picky which those.

𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙚 (a big or challenging book): The Name of the Wind;
this fantasty is fantasying hard for over 600 pages and doesn't even have as much romance as i normally want but my god was it a ride.

𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙙 (a book i have multiple copies of): Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation | Mo Dao Zu Shi;
could name a few but this one has even different formats :P books, german hardcovers, manhua, the original epub...

𝙎𝙡𝙤𝙩𝙝 (a book that's been on my TBR too long): Wayward Son;
even longer on my TBR than Arthur 🤡 5 years. I bought it right when it came out...made the mistake of getting influenced by negative reviews and never got to pick it up after. BUT I WILL !!!!

yesterday was best friends day apparently and i missed it because i was off frolicking at pride but it’s been a long time coming for me to give love to the trio who has helped save my life more times than they’ve realized.

these three have been there for me for some of the worst times in the past few years and i could not be more thankful for them. hayls has been with me for not one but two break ups, sierra the tail end of the one and brought me through another one, and kate also. all three of them were there for me when i thought my world was ending. when my dad passed away. when our dog passed away. they’ve been there as i’ve started healing, starting to learn to love life again (or at least tolerate it lmao), watched me come into my queer identity in full and more.

i don’t know where i would be without my best friends by my side but i’m so thankful that the internet brought me them in some way shape or form. all three of them are my birds. and i wouldn’t trade any of them for anything, even if it meant no trauma and no health issues.

thank you, sincerely, to you three for loving me the way you do. and showing me what actual healthy love is supposed to be before i could realize it myself. i love you all so so so much, whatever our souls are made of… it’s the same thing 😭🩵

“a heartbreak in remission, the universe is shifting & it’s all for me” 🩵

there are so many people i could include in this this year but i want to single out some of my all time best friends. this last year has not been an easy one & navigating heartbreak also was and has not been easy either but these three have been here for me every second of the way.

every single tear i’ve cried this year one of them has caught it metaphorically.

every hardship they’ve been there for me.

every smile and laughter they’ve been there to share with me as well.

and the smiles and laughs we have had together is so high, too.

i don’t think i could ever have made it without them & i will forever be thankful for all of the people i have in my life surrounding me but these ones? they have a special place in my heart always 🩵

now you get to experience me learning to love myself again, learning to love life despite the storms, and navigating everything else going on.

i love you three SO much (and lace, i love you also so so so much and am forever thankful for you as well) & i am forever going to be thankful for you.

i hope none of you ever learn to peel your oranges so i can peel them for you 🩵

I got tagged by @readwithneleh to do the texts as books challenge.

My husband is a very goofy man and our communication is usually about the cats or silly internet memes. I have not read widely enough to make any sense of the things he says to me with books. So, I’m doing this as a TBR challenge with books I really want to read. This was fun! I tagged some people to join in. 🫶🏻
