POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today was one of those moments I’ll carry with me for a long time. ❤️
As a mom, there are moments that make you smile… and then there are moments that remind you why every prayer, every sacrifice, and every lesson mattered.

Today, I watched my daughter, Destini Jordan, confidently lead the Young Adult Panel during the 2nd Annual Mind, Body, Soul, Health and Wealth Experience.
She had a vision for her life years ago, stayed committed to it, and today she stood before a room filled with incredible women and led with confidence, wisdom, grace, and authenticity.

What blessed me just as much was watching the entire panel prepare behind the scenes. They encouraged one another, respected each other’s voices, and when they stepped onto that stage, they were united. The conversation flowed so naturally that you could feel the impact throughout the room.

The wisdom these young women shared wasn’t just for their generation, it spoke to many of us as grown women too.

Seeing Gen Z women boldly embrace who God created them to be gives me so much hope for the future. They’re not waiting for permission. They’re leading with purpose.
As a mother… my heart is full.
Keep going, Destini. God is doing exactly what He promised. ❤️

I’d love to hear from you: Who is a young woman that’s inspiring you right now? Tag her below and let her know she’s making a difference.

favorite series challenge 🌩️✨

A massive thank you to @rosybookrecs for tagging me in this challenge!! 💕

For me, Fourth Wing has quite literally taken over my life. Gotta give a shoutout to Rebecca Yarros for creating a world that has become part of my every day.

I genuinely think about this world daily. It has become a comfort for me. Funnily enough, while reading the first book I made a little bracelet because I loved the characters and dragons so much. The bracelet is an ode to them, as well as a reminder of resiliency that I get to wear daily.

Truly, this series has taken over my life in such meaningful ways.

What series is your favorite, or most meaningful to you?

*I’ve tagged some friends, but please consider yourself tagged if you’re seeing this 🫶🏻

What was a book that made you fall in love with reading?

Happy Galentines Day💗

I’m a big lover of love in all forms and I love any excuse to yap about my adoration for my friends, books, and this community!! I am so dang grateful that I have read so many incredible books with all the amazing reccs from friends on here AND made some of my closest friends here on bookstagram throughout the past 7 years here🥹💗 This is my virtual hug to all of you!!! I’ve tagged a few book accts I adore whether it’s their amazing reccs, reviews, cosy photos or them just being the best. (Of course, this is a non-exhaustive list bc I was limited to 20 tags 🤧)

Also, pictured was my desk (after I cleaned up the washi tape and sticker mess 🤣) when I was working on cards for my penpals! I usually send my v-day cards with a little craft but this year I thought it would be fun to do a bingo card instead (thank youuu, Canva).

Oh, also! To answer my own question, I’ve been a reader since I was a kid and I know there was definitely quite a handful of picture books I adored. But I think the first chapter book that I remember truly devouring was probably either Junie B. Jones, Magic Treehouse or Sideways Stories from Wayside School.

Thank you for tagging me @jhudson_reads !!! I realized I don’t really have very many horrors that aren’t thrillers so I chose to go with 5 of my favorite thrillers. :)

I’m also going to follow what he said for those I’ve tagged, and please feel free to do any of you too 5’s from any and all genres ♥️.

Here we goooo

1.Woom by the wonderfully messed up @userbits . Cheese n rice. I will not say anything about what’s in this 129 page book of “what the actual sh!t did i just read” but holy s balls Batman. If you like messed up books. This one’s for you. Haha thank you @marcuslind97 for making me pick this lil Jem up.

2. Pretty Girls by the ever amazing @karinslaughterauthor . One of my favorite book friends @mattydafsshelf told me to read this and boy am i ever so glad he did! I LOVED this book AND the Grants County series?! If you’ve read this, you’ll love that one by Karin. Still not over that ending. 😩

3. They Never Learn by Layne Fargo. If you need a good fem rage with great retribution - this is it! Just wowowowow.

4. Broken Monsters by Lauren Bukes. This was a WILD ride from start to finish. That ending still lives rent free in my head. My beautiful sis @killah.kota asked me to read this one and I’m so so glad i did.

5. The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson. SUCH A GREAT FREAKING READ. I loved every second of this story. It kept me on my dang toes all the way through.

Bonus pic: my horror picks, aka this badass box set I found at Costco with this cute dude i know 😉♥️. These are books I’ve ALWAYS wanted to own and never found copies I have liked.

Have yall read any of these? Which one do you like most?

no one tagged me but def inspired by @greenwytchbooks @meesreads & @caseybeebooks 🤍

this was so hard! 🙈 i also would end up picking more than 5 when looking for photos and it was so interesting to see what ended up making the cut in the end lol.

tagging some friends, but of course if you see this and wanna do it, you are tagged 🤍✨

and now i must return to my studies. miss you all 🥲 currently preparing for 2 essays and today i’m reading a mystery play from the middle ages- what essentially was the beginning of dramas becoming literary dramas 🙌🏻📖

September Wrap Up!

I am still keeping a physical journal of my monthly reads, but lately I haven’t felt as crafty or had the time to dedicate to it.

It was a really good month for reading!
My favorites included The Assassin’s Blade, The Rom-Commers and The Love of My Afterlife (all 5 star reads!)

The Unraveling, The Cinnamon Bun Book Store and After I Do were all solid (3-4 stars) while, sadly, The Invisible Hour just didn’t cut it. *Alice Hoffman does DELIVER for me usually!!!*

How was your month?? Any hopefuls for October?👻
