Thank you to everyone who attended the first Private Screening held at @studioshapeschi 🎺✨

This evening was filled with so much love, laughter and COMMUNITY‼️ It was more than a screening, this experience was designed as a celebration of activism, art and culture.

Guests enjoyed live music by @theromelsims , spoken word by @msmamaspen , complimentary drinks, and opportunities to connect with fellow creatives and supporters following the film.

I wanted everyone to walk alway knowing you can wake up everyday & have the audacity to push back against what society has instructed us to be & what society is instructing us to act.

I am excited to announce that this past Friday, I officially commenced my internship with Fresh Films. For the last 6 months, I have had the immense honor of participating in an accelerated program for aspiring Filmmakers! This program gave me the opportunity to explore my true passion in a genuinely fulfilling manner. I was able to push myself outside of my comfort zone by studying under industry professionals, collaborating with great creatives and learning new skills necessary to pursue a career in filmmaking!

Working with Fresh Films was honestly a dream come true! I received the opportunity to work diligently on several projects, where I directed a music video for Atlantic’ Record Artist Luh Dyl, joined a writers team and learned how to operate a camera! I am so excited to say that I have ascertained a beautiful sense of direction for the path that I want to take to develop my career. I have also been honored to gain a wonderful community that not only aligns with my chosen career but more importantly inspires me to hold myself accountable to the goals I have set for myself!

To culminate my internship, I was able to attend a phenomenal event curated by the Illinois Film Office. We were able to listen to panel discussions with industry professionals and network with like minded individuals. I’m am so thankful to have had this opportunity and I can’t wait to see what’s next for me!

Thank you to the Illinois Film Office, Fresh Films, and @kaylasullers for pouring into me in such an extraordinary manner! I’m ready to take on the world with all you’ve given me!
