Come join the launch of TAKE ONE ACTION, a mobile art intitiative organized by Art at a Time Like This.

On Saturday, October 3 at noon outside Cristin Tierney Gallery on Walker Street in Tribeca, we will gather around a mobile LED truck broadcasting images, videos and messages to save democracy from artists such as Marilyn Minter, Robert Longo, Janet Biggs/Terry Berkowitz, Autumn Savage, Debra Pearlman, Shaun Leonardo, Jonathan Allen, Julian Alexander, Marka27 and Sasha Stiles.

This is a key way to participate in the Fall of Freedom weekend, a nationwide resistance movement in support of free expression.

All the artists I met at the opening of New York’s Every Woman Biennial, which features some 400 women and nonbinary artists! 🎨 🌈Last day to see it—and get $35 vending machine mystery art—is today, at Pen + Brush, 29 East 22nd Street, and the closing party goes until 9! As I wrote for @artnet (link in bio), “The Every Woman Biennial is a joyful reminder that women will never be silenced, and that we will always find new venues to tell—and celebrate—our stories.”

A single large clear glass sculpture hangs above a nest of black paper. The bulbous form is inspired by the voluptuous Venus of Willendorf.

This installation in two parts posits a world of duality represented in Yin and Yang, fullness and emptiness, light and dark, positive and negative space, motion and stillness. It is a freeze frame of energies in flux and establishing balance, reflected in these forms still in the process of becoming.
