@redbamboonyc is BACK!!! ❤️🎋

The little things that give you hope in the world - Jade found a takeout kitchen by Times Square to still serve us vegans 🌱 after having to close their iconic location on the West side. I had to order the classic and a fave of mine; the BBQ wings. I also loved the cookie made by @plantbakedcakes perfect for the grand opening (which was on 10/10). I wish Red Bamboo Kitchen nothing but the best, and them being close to Grand Central means more visits from me 💕

Last Saturday, after a much needed haircut, I had the great fortune to drop by for the reopening of the #redbamboo. I was saddened when the @redbamboonyc closed its doors earlier this year while still a student of SUNY Purchase at the time. Now, they’re back. I was more than happy to drop by for some delectable vegan BBQ buffalo wings among other things.

I want to give a shoutout to Jade, the owner, and Ashley for providing a great environment and hospitality while I was there last Saturday. It was nice to see Ashley again after remembering her at the previous location on West 4th Street. You both rock! Jade was so lovely and snapped a couple selfies with me while I was there. If you have the money and the time, I highly recommend coming in to order some yummy vegan food, such as their wings, from the Red Bamboo. You won’t regret it. 😊

Such a beautiful day, got to see some of my favorite people, FINALLY meet a friend I’ve been working with for 6 years for the first time, and catch up with one of my best friends. Was able to tour Google, eat pizza (again), and then went over to the new Red Bamboo, met Jade and had to stuff my face again. This two dinners back to back shit has got to stop lol

One of the oldest #vegan restaurants is back. @redbamboonyc recently closed in Greenwich Village after 24 years, but they quickly opened a new takeout-focused space on West 38th Street, with a few tables and a limited menu featuring their most popular dishes. They’ll grow the menu over time. Visit the new Red Bamboo in Midtown West.

This post is NOT related to my job but I wanted to help out a local business in NYC that came back from the dead. For all of the vegan/vegetarian folks in New York City Red Bamboo is BACK! I’m NOT getting paid for this post. #vegan #newyorkcity #nyc #vegetarian #redbamboo @redbamboonyc

Jade and Red Bamboo have been a part of my life for a very long time. A place of solace, love and friendship was woven into the very essence of the walls, the people, the meals of Red Bamboo. I dont think there is a single person in my life I havent brought to Red Bamboo. A juggernaut on the vegan scene wholeheartedly. Jade is such a special, rare person and I cant believe I get to call her a friend. Our collective hearts broke when Red Bamboo left the West Village, but I had no doubts it would be back. And well, just a few short months later here we are. Red Bamboo is back, available for take out/delivery on 307 W 38th St. I of course had the privilege of making some grand opening cookies! Please do not hesitate to show Jade and her crew the love they so deserve. Welcome back!! 🖤

I’m a little late on posting this but it took me a while cuz I’m still so sad over my favorite restaurant closing down… Spent my days off here after shopping or seeing a horror movie, and I always gave an ancestor offering to my kuya Makh. I also brought many friends here who weren’t even meat free but they loved it so much to keep coming back.

It’s been a few months and I still get overwhelmed trying to figure out where I’m gonna eat when I go into the city now… I’m also wondering what I’m gonna do this year for Thanksgiving since I preferred to get their pre-fixe Thanksgiving meal - it was perfect for one person who didn’t have anywhere to go for the holiday. I’m gonna miss that tradition.. Plus they had a full Filipino menu! Do you know how hard it is to find vegan Filipino food? Yeah it’s damn near impossible unless you learn how to make it at home. But their food allowed me to reminisce on my childhood meals without breaking my core values. Not to mention the staff that gave it a real community feel. There’s really nowhere like this place.

Well I’m happy I was able to keep a little momento from there and get it laminated at Staples to keep it protected forever. Miss you @redbamboonyc ♥️

February 2026. Too many changes. Some bad, but some good too. Said goodbye to my favorite restaurant ever. Saw Finn Wolfhard in person. Met some new people. Moved (aka fled from an abusive place) into a new, better space. Couldn’t have gotten through all this without my friends. Wow I have mental whiplash just thinking about all this while making this post…

So very sad to say we had our last dinner at the Boo a couple of weeks ago. Since I went vegan 12 years ago, this has been our very favorite restaurant, and now it has closed down. Every Thanksgiving dinner, every Valentine’s Day, every anniversary, and countless other occasions… the best food in NYC with the greatest staff and the most incredible owner. They even remembered our anniversary and wrote messages to us in hot fudge!! So sad to see this family-owned restaurant go. We even got “our table” when they closed down; it will be used in countless restaurant scenes at Triple Promise for many years to come… words cannot express how much we will miss this place and the amazing people who made the vegan magic happen night after delicious night.

In memorium…. @redbamboonyc
